We loved the cabin we had bears come to the door it was nice upstairs was great kitchen was very nice, everything you need to cook with nice pot an pans. Living room furniture could be better, its on small size. Downstairs was cold a lil heater that looks like a fireplace would be great, but the bedrooms was nice. Hot tub was wonderful an hot. Ms David Cabin is very nice no its not one of those fancy one. It's a cabin home away from home. It's sweet a great place to vacation with family. Yes driveway is steep but I had no problem I have a truck. And the price is great. I will be staying again. Next time summer just to see how beautiful it really is surrounded but trees mountain bears. Thank you Mr David. I still have your number. Carol an Stephen Martin

We really liked the cabin. The furniture was comfortable and the bedrooms worked out great. The driveway was a little tricky. We used the hot tub and firepit.

It was fine.

We had a wonderful stay in Gatlinburg, Tn. The house was perfect for our family. The kids loved the games downstairs and the popcorn machine. We took a great deal of things with us because I wasn't sure what the house would be equipped with but it had everything we needed. It was a perfect distance from downtown but far enough away for the mountain experience. The driveway was probably our only mishap and luckily I read the reviews before arrival and knew we needed to stay to the right side (my husband did not listen though). After the arrival, we got the hang of the driveway. It might be a little difficult if there were snow or ice but we were fine. Thanks for a wonderful weekend! We would definitely stay here again:)

The cabin was in need of a cleaning. There was dust on all the bed frames, ceiling fans and kitchen cabinets. We ran out of toilet paper and paper towels on day 2 of our stay.
However, the worst part of our stay was when we attempted to leave the cabin and our car slide off the side of the driveway. We called the owners for help Only to receive an offering of an additional night, that I had to pay for, in hopes that we could get the car out of the driveway. The owners never offered any assistance beyond that. We had to beg neighbors for help.
Fortunately, we found an angel who helped us. We never received any other communication from the owners inquiring if we had gotten help or if we needed any further assistance.

Our arrival to the home was much later than anticipated due to traffic and activities gearing up in Pigeon Forge.. it was literally 4 hours to get through 3.5 miles. Bad timing and not checking on activities on my part.
Finding the cabin at night was a bit scary. Tight turns and narrow roads.....
We did find it and it was very pleasant. Everything we needed was there. We had no problems or needs the entire stay.
I'm glad we brought our crosstrek instead of our impreza.. it was a fairly steep drop from the road to the drive way. We would have high centered.
We really enjoyed our time in Tennessee.

We had a great time in the mountains. The house was a described. We had extra excitement with visits from black bears.
8.0 / 10.0
This octagonal house is quite nice inside with comfortable furnishings. The kitchen is well equipped but dimly lit. The beds and linens are fine. It's a quick drive to town or the park. Internet worked well. The price was reasonable.
Here are the downsides. The driveway tips so steeply off the road that you cannot see your trajectory if you're in a low car. Mine scraped bottom both coming and going because of the angle. The internal stairway is a metal spiral that would be a danger for young children, both the steps and the widely spaced guardrail at top. Better lighting is needed in several areas, especially the upstairs bedroom. The house is not at all accessible but that is made clear in the description.

We enjoyed our stay at this nice spacious cabin. It was comfortable and had all the things needed for our long weekend away. When we arrived the hot tub was not working but my husband contacted the cabin caretaker and they came the next day and fixed it with a new control panel. We appreciated the prompt response. We were not fond of the spiral staircase because of our mobility issues but we knew it was there when we chose the cabin. There needs to be an updated tv channel guide showing just the channels the cabin gets. It was very difficult to navigate thru the channels and figure out what was what and it required all 3 three remotes to operate one tv. But we had great wifi and cell signal. We also appreciate that the cabin was very clean and well kept.
6.0 / 10.0
Pros - location is excellent, hot tub worked, hot water was great, heater worked, value priced, kids enjoyed the video game and watching the little popcorn machine (not eating the popcorn so much), coffee pot and single cup coffee maker worked
Cons - spiral staircase is unsafe and a hazard, no dishwasher, no washer/dryer, front door top bolt didn’t lock, driveway is easy to miss and drops down steeply, sliding doors are difficult to operate, floors were not very clean on arrival, every screw on the foosball was loose - I tightened, pan handles were loose - I tightened what we used, oven was dirty and had teriyaki sauce below the heating element I found a bit too late, the toaster knob was missing, one set of sheets had a cigarette like burn hole.
All of these things are relatively small - other than the spiral staircase, both kids had issues - and seemingly why the price is lower than the surrounding locations.
If you’re looking for a nice place, this isn’t for you.
If your looking for a lower priced rental next to Ober Gatlinburg and don’t mind dealing with some inconveniences, this is a good choice.

The cabin was clean, but needed updated some. The drive was was steep, narrow and hard to get in and out of. We stayed 4 nights and it had no washer and dryer and only enough towels and rags for one night. Had to go buy more. Some of the windows had no blinds in them and the neighbors could see in.
6.0 / 10.0
#1: The driveaway is super steep and its best to back down it instead of pulling in.
#2: The porch and outside steps are about rotted.
#3: The indoor spiral stairs are super narrow so if you have children or have bad knees you might as well forget it.
#4: There is no dishwasher.
#5: The hot tub was very clean.
#6: The upstairs stayed nice and cool however the down stairs stayed hot.
#7: The pull out couch is hard and I have thicker leggings than the mattress on it. It is not the futon in the pictures. We all have cuts on our legs from it.
#8: BRING toilet paper. The stuff that was there was thinner than public bathrooms.
#9: No lighting other than very dim lamps in the bedrooms makes it hard to do anything.
#10: If anything is going on at the cabins next door you will hear anything and EVERYTHING.

The only issue I would say was the driveway was to deep but we are definitely booking again

We had a great trip. My mom wanted to go to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, so my Sister, Niece and I took her there. So, it was 4 girls in a cabin in the woods (kinda). We thought from the picture it would be a little more “remote”, but it sits among others and is down over the hill.
The first thing you MUST know is that the driveway is SO steep!!!!! I had a panic attack when I saw we had to go down it- even though we had a truck. It’s the initial decent off the main road that’s the issue. Once you get past that it’s ok. We had to go past it and turn around and come at it from the other direction to get down it easier from the main road. I had read the other reviews so was expecting it to be steep, but when you actually SEE it; it’s a little scary. Don't bring a car! And if you want to turn around down there (which we had to do in order to get back up it safely), there’s no room for other vehicles in the driveway- in my opinion. I know other driveways are steep too because - after all, you’re in the mountains, so just be careful.
But, as far as the cabin goes, it’s very clean, organized and quaint. Beds were very comfortable. We all slept great! We especially enjoyed the hot tub each night at the end of our long days walking around. It’s an older cabin (floors not level), that has been updated and decorated nicely. I would recommend blinds in the kitchen and sliding glass door to provide more privacy from the neighbors- and better lighting downstairs. It’s a little darker than we liked and some of the blinds don’t open/shut down there, so you can’t adjust a few of them.
There ARE bears that walk around in the area. We saw three, which we loved watching (from inside) :)
Overall, I would recommend this cabin if you can get up/down the driveway ok.

I want to thank the homeowners for their quick responses before booking and even responses during the stay. None of my complaints are about the renters personally.
Unfortunately the house is just a little older and has some unique features that should make you think twice before booking.
As many noted the driveway is not to be taken lightly. It is VERY steep. We arrived in our suv and it still was a struggle. When we were there it happen to snow and it was impossible to leave. (Literally impossible. Even with AWD)
The house itself had a few frustrating things. First thing was the amount of Ants in the house. It was pretty bad. And this was in January. The downstairs bathroom had trouble operating properly. And the staircase was not safe at all. I’ve noticed other comments saying this also. But two of the bottom steps on the staircase are not welded to the middle pipe. Because of this my girlfriend wouldn’t use the indoor stairs the entire stay after she almost fell the first time using them.
One other thing that is just a personal preference but something we couldn’t tel from the pictures. Is that the next door neighbor on (right side looking at house from road) is much closer than you would think. So we had a problem because the hot tub is on that side, and the neighbors porch is almost directly looking down at the hot tub. The homeowner has an orange curtain to try to provide privacy, but the wind will blow it where it is not effective. So this may cause embarrassment if you would like some privacy.
We did end up leaving a day early because of the ant situation. But I am sure the homeowners have addressed that issue. The place is very unique and I’m sure is right for some people. And we may have just rented at not the best time. But those are just a few things we experienced during our stay that you may not be able to tell from the listing.

This cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The only reason I can't give this five stars is because it was not disclosed how hard it is to access the driveway from the road. This driveway is a very steep downhill drive. The road pavement is above the grade of the driveway resulting in a bad drop-off on one side. No markers help you negotiate this and it takes someone to guide you down there. Also if you have a low car you can easily bottom out. Fortunately we had an SUV.
Only other thing is the cabin could use some additional lighting throughout.

We loved this cabin it was so cute and clean had everything we needed. Only disappointment was the driveway we parked at the next cabin because the driveway was to steep. We will definitely be back!

Nice cabin, great location in a area of fine homes. Ober and downtown are only a few minutes away. We had great weather and saw bears from the cabin. The homeless cozy and had everything we needed and looking forward to coming again.

Very cozy place. Good location five minutes from the heart of town. We saw bears two out of three days at the cabin. The hot tub comfortably fit our whole family. Looking forward to coming back again.

This cabin is perfectly located just off ski mountain road, close to hiking and downtown. The house is well taken care of and the management is responsive. My wife and kids loved it as well. We will book this again if it’s available when we come back to Gatlingburg.

Immediately loved the house pulling down the driveway. Round cabin nestled in the mountain side is like nothing I’ve been to before. Loads of privacy and saw BEARS! Exactly what I came to Gatlinburg to see and really enjoyed the double wrap around deck to view them from at a safe height. Our kids loved the hot tub and the spiral staircase. Everything about this cabin was fun! I’ve been in a few uptight and fancy cabins and really enjoyed the relaxed feel this one gave us, especially with the kiddos. Spacious beds, kitchen and deck with fireplace left us wanting nothing more. We will be back! Thank you.

This cabin is amazing in every way. Our entire group had soooooo much fun! I read all the reviews and when we pulled into the drive, we loved the look of the place, but when we opened the door, it took our breathe away. It is so clean and so well decorated! As we settled in, we were surprised at the details that management has taken, because we have rented other cabins and not had all that we needed. There was coffee with the coffee pot! There were small bars of soap in the bathrooms, like at a hotel. Games in the closet. There was even a quesadilla maker, so when we were in town we picked up ingredients and had fun with that. You name it, the kitchen had it, without being over crowded. I felt like I was visiting the home of a trusted and thoughtful friend. The beds were so comfortable and all the linens are bleached white and the whole place has a clean, cozy feel. I loved the bear decor and themed bed rooms, that enhanced the experience for the kids. Talking of the kids, they had games to play, loved the hot tub and there were plenty of towels. I cannot say enough about this cabin. We will definitely be going back! I am glad that my friend found this gem! Did I mention that it was less than five minutes from OberGatlinburg and ten to downtown Gatlinburg? Once we arrived, we had almost no traffic to fight.

We loved this cabin! We had an issue with the hot tub the first day and the owners were very responsive and the maintenance man came right away and fixed it. Everything was perfect and we even got to see bears around the cabin both days we were there. Can’t wait to come back.

This cabin is just five minutes from the strip and two from the ski slope. Couldn't ask for a better location. The views are out of this world, I felt like I was sitting in the woods with the panoramic windows. It is open and airy, well decorated just like in the photos and clean. Everything was thought of and exceeded our expectations. The first night we arrived late and ordered pizza delivery and enjoyed the hot tub and cable television. My wife was especially happy with the white, bleached linens. She said they were really nice ones and it made me happy that she appreciated the comfort. When my wife is happy, I am happy. We did not need anything but we gave a courtesy call to Gwen the local manager to let her know that we were leaving and found her to be very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this cabin for couples and families alike.

This is the best cabin that I have ever rented. It had everything we needed without being cluttered. It is Clean and beautifully decorated. The linens are great the towels are soft. We saw bears. The local manager was very responsive and friendly. Clean and beautifully decorated. The linens are great the towels are soft. We saw barest. The local manager was very responsive and friendly. She explained that the tile floor was just put in and the contractor did a poor job. It did not affect our visit and it was not the fault of the manager or the owner. I can’t believe anyone would give this cabin anything other than a five star review. My family will be back again.

Great place to stay. Very comfortable and clean. The driveway was a bit tricky but we got used to it. Plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. My daughter enjoyed the hot tub every evening. The best place we have stayed in when visiting Gatlinburg. I would definitely stay here again.

This cabin is so beautifully decorated and clean! The bedding was comfortable and high quality. Everything that we could have wanted was there. Hot tub towels, everything you would need in a kitchen, big screen TV's, the view is out of this world! The kids loved the game room and hot tub and my wife loved the views and cleanliness of the house. My children asked me to buy the house so we could stay forever! It was just a few minutes to downtown Gatlinburg, and about the same distance to OberGatlinburg Ski and Amusement. The location was fantastic, even a small grocery a couple minutes away. We will be back and highly recommend this cabin.
