Our family tries to go to OC every year and at this point we’ve stayed at half a dozen hotels on the beach in OC. Having little ones means we want to minimize the number of roads we need to cross and so proximity to the beach is always something we look at when booking our yearly trip.
This was the first time we decided to stay at a location that wasn’t a hotel and happy to say we’ll most likely continue steering away from hotels in the future. While hotels are nice, clean and comes with a lot of amenities, it was nice to stay at a place that felt like home for a week. We weren’t greeted by strangers, nor were we bothered by the sounds of loud neighbors but rather we found a nice, clean, quiet, quaint space that we called home for 6 days.
The home came with everything you needed including silverware and dining ware, pans, pots, spices, oils, even plastic bags which were helpful to pack snacks for the day. There’s an elevator in the building as well which made carrying things in and out of the unit much easier.
All in all, probably one of the best stays we’ve had at OC and will definitely be looking to stay at the same location again in the future. I almost selfishly want to avoid talking too much about this hidden gem but that would be doing a disservice to the owner…Oh! And not only is the beach close (2 min walk from door to sand…with a wagon full of kids toys and tents) but the beach is quiet…much quieter than what you expect closer to the boardwalk where the hustle and bustle of beach goers is more obvious. At this stage our lives, my wife and I definitely appreciated the silence and space that the beach on 42nd street provided.

This is our third year in a row staying here. The accommodations and location are perfect for our family! Everything is close… the beach, plenty of restaurants to pick from, mini golf, Jolly Rogers and ice cream for the kids too!
