My family of 4 really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful condo at the Papakea resort. The property grounds are a little dated but the condo itself is newly renovated and clean. Located on the 2nd floor (out of 4), beautiful ocean views from the lanai, very spacious and has everything you need and more, including snorkel gear and binoculars to whale watch.
There is no restaurant on site but there are several good places to eat within walking distance (Penny’s for breakfast & desserts, tons of food trucks, Fish Market, shave ice, Times Supermarket, etc.). There’s even a convenient back gate entrance to an ABC store. Parking was easy and the staff, friendly. Host was very responsive and flexible with our check in/out time.
Highly recommend and would love to stay here again when we return to Maui.

All three of us were very happy with our stay at Papakea resort. The building is set in beautifully maintained grounds with two pools, fish ponds and tropical vegetation. The building is older, but incredibly well cared for. Though there are many units, it is only four stories tall, and is quieter it feels designed on a more human scale than some of the other developments along this stretch of beach.
The condo has a better view of the ocean than the photos suggest. Sitting on the lanai, the soundscape is dominated by the waves. The interior of the condo has been recently renovated and has a modern beach house vibe to it. The shore in front has very little sand, but it is a short walk to the north end of the Kaanapali beach walk and the sandy beach there (with some good snorkeling). In addition there is a shopping center with a local supermarket across the street, making it easy to grab additional supplies. We all agreed we would be happy staying here again. We had a wonderful stay.

My sister, her husband and I and my husband stayed for a week of peace and beauty. The space and the resort were very clean and well kept. We had an incredible view from our balcony of the ocean, and the resort. The apartment had beach chairs, towels, coolers and umbrellas to use when we went to the beach. The beds were very comfortable and so were the pillows. Slept very well. We had an issue with the dishwasher and the owner got back in touch with us quickly took care of the issue very quickly. We would definitely stay here again.
