Booked this property for my daughter’s 16th Birthday, I was a little apprehensive at first due to the distance to the sites we visited. We went to Universal Studios, Warner Bros, Queen Mary, and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. The drive was fine, and maybe added an extra 10 to 15 minutes to other properties I was looking at. Let me tell you, the property is totally worth it. We usually stay at Marriott’s when we travel, and the property was far cheaper than any hotel I could find.
Nick, the owner, is awesome and responsive, and as for the property, you'll get lost on the first day. Spacious and beautiful, I mean it when I say. You will not regret it. My daughter did not want to leave. Thanks, Nick, for a great stay. I will definitely be back on my next visit to LA.

This was our 2nd Thanksgiving at The Castle. It was even better this year because of the new oven/range. Two large ovens and two sets of stove tops. Induction technology so don't bring your own pans if they are not magnetic. They also supply lots of towels and paper goods. I hate it when owners are skimpy with those. We slept eight but had three more over for Thanksgiving dinner. Wonderful to have space to gather family. The back yard is fenced, so our dogs did fine. There are also wonderful hikes that start just outside the front gate. We'll be back again.

Amazing! The Castle is absolutely beautiful! It is so spacious and feels like home. Kitchen is well stocked with all the equipment you need. Beds are comfortable and there are extra sheets and blankets. Lots and lots of towels. The pool is relaxing and clean. Very well cared for. Nick is the most amazing host. Great communication before during and after! View is breath taking. There was a problem with the electrical outlets in the kitchen but Nick told us in advance and even offered to send an electrician right away. We LOVED our stay! Did I mention how awesome Nick was!!!!

When we rented this house, I thought it would be fun to check it out, but expected such a "museum" looking place to be kind of stiff. It was anything but. This place is really comfortable. 1st they do not skimp on towels like a lot of vacation rentals do. There were more than we needed, along with plentiful toilet paper, paper towels, tissue. There were also lots for really plush comfy blankets around for lounging in the living room and more in the bedrooms. There were plenty of items to use in the kitchen. I've rented places where if they have a maximum occupancy of 8, there will be exactly 8 place settings, so you have to run the dishwasher after every meal. That was not the case with the castle.
Previous guests have complained about the bad attitude of the management. That was over two years ago, so pay no attention. Nick started managing the place two years ago and he was great. He returned every text and call and got us all set up to enjoy. Another negative post complained about not being able to put toilet paper down the toilet. Either that problem has been fixed, or they didn't read the sign correctly. It says ONLY toilet paper in the toilet. That's true just about anywhere let alone a 100 year old house.
Only thing I could possibly complain about is that it takes several minutes for the hot water to reach the second floor from the basement where the water heater is. So don't panic, just be patient. It'll get there.
We stayed for six nights, had a blast and will be back next year.
