What a wonderful stay at Tranquil Retreat! Visiting the Schoodic Peninsula for an art residency, I was seeking a rental that would provide a quiet and restorative space when not working in the studio nearby.
This apartment was perfect, and I look forward to returning. Communication was timely, friendly, and informative. There was a welcome basket full of goodies upon arrival! The owners next door were helpful and responsive, while not at all intrusive. The space was tastefully decorated, extremely clean, neat, and equipped with everything one might need.
What really completed this gorgeous home away from home were the ocean views, sounds, autumn color, and the deck from which to enjoy them all with coffee or wine, which I enjoyed even with the chilly October temps.

We spent 10 days in this lovely, quiet place. The cottage is beautifully made and outfitted. It feels spacious, and the artwork, furniture, and kitchen equipment, and bathroom supplies are all very nice. It has everything needed to live comfortably and really relax. The views out every window are pretty and the balcony overlooking the lovely yard, trees, and ocean was the best place to sit and enjoy coffee, or the moon. The quiet roads in this area offer long walks through forest with frequent views of ocean, inlet, or lake. Acadia National Park is close and amazing. Our hosts were so lovely - relaxed, and generous, and fun to talk with. They gave us good advice whenever we asked. We look forward to returning to see them as well as their beautiful part of the world.

This cottage and location is perfect in every way! The cottage is lovely, with attention to every detail. Very updated and very well stocked with everything you could need. The bed is very comfortable. Lots of amenities. Tastefully decorated.
The property is right on the water and the views are breathtaking. We sat on the deck each morning for our breakfast and tranquil is the best description. Quiet! And we occasionally heard the call of the loons!
Bar Harbor, and all it has to offer is about an hour drive, and we did go over there each day. But it was well worth the drive to be away from all of the noise and commercialism in the evenings and mornings.
I cannot recommend this cottage enough !

My girlfriend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Prospect Harbor. The rental was pristine, well stocked, very homey, and the grounds were gorgeous! It was the perfect spot to relax and unplug while still being close enough to key spots for hiking and exploring. Owners were super nice and ensured we were not without a thing! We cannot wait to return to this very same property next year!
