The stay was just right for us, our baby, small dog, and my mother. We explored the area in between nap time and even had a nice fire outside when baby went to bed!
As expected, the neighbors were more noticeable than one would want. For example, when we pulled up there was about three dogs that came in and my husband had to get them all out to shut the gate. The neighbor came over and apologized and said he wouldn’t have had the dogs out if he knew people were staying. Our small dog is afraid of dogs so we didn’t like that they just came in and quickly came to sniff our dog. Not ideal, it bothered us as it was the first thing that happened when we got there…but then it was completely fine! there is a really great privacy fence that helps.

This place is cute! It has been updated and the interior is nice. When we arrived, it was clean and the heater had been turned on.
There were more than enough kitchen tools to make our Thanksgiving feast! We enjoyed all the DVDs and the Wii. The couches are comfy. There is a large dining table that left room for puzzling on half while still having dinner space. It's a great place to disconnect and relax.
I would say to dress for the weather in the late fall. Even with the heaters on it was a touch chilly. But there are plenty of blankets to bundle up in. We were sad that it wasn't a tad warmer to enjoy the porch and backyard fire pit. Our group did the hike up the hill behind the house and enjoyed the scenery. There is a sweet, friendly horse next door that said "Hi".

The cabin was lovely. It was comfortable and cosy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. We really appreciated the snacks and the nostalgic DVDs. I can see how a family would make very happy memories staying in this cabin.
Unfortunately the neighbors were less than friendly. We had an incident where the neighbors were outside around our car with their guns on the night we arrived. The owner was very responsive and proactive but it left us feeling quite unsafe for the weekend. The neighbors played loud music outside and were shouting and banging during the night while we were trying to sleep. The confederate flag hanging from their window may make some feel unwelcome.
It’s disappointing as otherwise we would have really enjoyed our weekend.
