Location was convenient for us to get to Ski Beech Resort and the roads were kept up even with the snow for the most part. We had 8+ inches of snow and able to navigate from this location. Would require 4 wheel drive. Ample parking for 4 vehicles and lots of wildlife around. Probably one of the best equipped rentals I have experienced in the area for basic needs with a nice coffee bar. The hostess, Eva, communicated well and answered questions pretty quickly.

This was a perfect place for our trip! The place was clean (top priority!) and stayed very cool with the ceiling fans and open windows (and I was worried about lack of a/c even in the mountains, so this was a plus!) Our guest contact was super helpful when we had a question as well. Beautiful view - we saw many deer, including fawns. Definitely recommend!
For those wondering (because we did!), the layout is as follows: top floor is the main living space with kitchen, dining spaces, living room, bathroom, and the deck. One floor down has three bedrooms: 1 master with king bed & bathroom, 1 room with queen, 1 room with 2 twins, and a separate bathroom. The bottom floor has laundry, plus the living space with the futon, the bedroom with 2 queen beds, and a bathroom. The two lower levels have deadbolted access to the outside.

This house is a very nice place to stay, to relax and enjoy the natural setting, and to access everything in and near Beech Mountain and Banner Elk. It is well stocked with plenty of things to make good meals and to relax. We saw deer every day, including being welcomed by three of them when we first arrived. The trees around the house have grown up a little more than the pictures of the house show, so that there was not as full a view of the mountains in the distance as we expected. There were some issues with sticking doors and hard-to-lock doors that we reported to the management, and they indicated an eagerness to fix them in the future. Same with the ripped covers on some of the outdoor chairs--an important matter in rainy weather--and with the wobbly top of the interesting fire-table. The 10 a.m. checkout requirement on the last day was also not so great. It is such a nice house in many ways that I hate to give it anything less than 5 stars. But the matters above just gave it less than a full 5-star feel.
