Cute, cozy, perfect for a birding getaway! Everything listed was accurate. The care and heart that went into making sure we had a perfect stay was so endearing. I had a wonderful birthday and I can't thank you guys enough! Will definitely be back in the spring for warbler migration :)

When we pulled up to this property, my husband and I were very apprehensive. The properties surrounding this one were extremely dumpy, cars everywhere in the yard. Falling down curtains, overgrown weeds, etc. The cabin inside was decorated nicely and seemed clean. The host had baked cinnamon bread, which was very kind. The bedroom was upstairs, but unfortunately there is no bathroom upstairs, making it very difficult for anyone who needs the bathroom during the night. My husband and I are in our sixties, and this setup would be impossible for us. The advertisement for this cabin did not state that there was no bathroom up a flight and a half of stairs. We notified the host that we were going to head home because of this. She told us there was an adjoining property that had a first floor bathroom, so we moved to that one. This second cabin was nicely decorated also. The first floor bedroom bed was one mattress, pretty much on the floor, although it did have a first floor bathroom! The second "bedroom" was the loft with ladder and a mattress on the floor. No standing up there! It would be fun for kids though. The bed was not comfortable and too small for us. It was not a pleasant stay for us. I would not recommend it.

The Fishermans Retreat was exactly what we were looking for, for our Erie Island adventure! It was clean, comfortable and in the right location. We were provided all the comforts of home in this cabin. The check in procedure was seamless and we really enjoyed our stay. Just wish we had more time to explore the area!

This is my second time at the Fisherman's Retreat, and I can't wait to come back! This is the perfect location, and the home is equipped with everything you may need. The beds are comfy and have great pillows. I enjoyed the wildlife, as it was abundant with birds chirping. The balcony is a great place to sip your morning coffee while taking in the scenic view.A great quiet getaway with an amazing perch dinner two blocks away. I will be visiting again soon! The property was very nice and the property manager was very timely and responsive. Only concern is that potential for pipes to freeze if there is not a way to circulate the heat from upstairs. The property manager was very accommodating and assisted with additional heat sources. The only concern is for the property itself, our stay was fine and they made sure we were taken care of.

Let's start off positive. This place is super clean. The owners answered all our questions and was super prompt. Very hospitable. The amenities A++ seriously go above and beyond for their guests. They leave a personalized note for their guests. And a complimentary loaf of cinnamon bread. So here's the things we struggled with. We based picking this cabin off of the pictures and reviews. I discussed it with the owners after I booked. I thought this was a fishing cabin but it is fishing themed. That's on me for not understanding. They do have some great sights and fishing spots less than a mile away. And the views were beautiful. So this part was my fault and my mistake but still had the stuff we wanted locally, so not a big deal. I did assume that it was more succluded based off of reviews. It is surrounded by neighbors and attached to another cabin by a porch. Thankfully everyone was quiet. And super respectful. I mostly wanted quite because I know we are loud. I have 2 dogs that are friendly but bark at everything and 3 kids one of them special needs and the youngest a toddler. So they can be loud. Still this is mostly on us for being a noisy group we just hope we didn't bother anyone too much. The only true problem we had was space. Being a family of 5 we struggled with sleeping arrangements. It says it sleeps 5 but I would definitely say 4 max. My kids don't sleep well together and it was a tight fit. For the 2 nights 3 days that we were there. That being said t

3 of us stayed 4 nights here and all thought that the house was very clean and well put together. And appreciated the privacy and silence that this home delivered. We all slept very well and were very comfortable aswell as being within or just over half an hour to Port Clinton or surrounding areas. If we get back out that way we will be staying again.
