About this cabin rental

The "Willow Haus" is a rustic 2-story home, situated alongside a trout stream in beautiful ranch country approximately 12 miles from the town of Philipsburg Montana. The property is accessed on Willow Creek Road, a maintained gravel road ½ mile from Highway 348, which is an incredibly beautiful drive. This 206 acre estate is a wildlife conservation easement with the opportunity to see deer, elk, coyotes, hawks, owls, etc. There are 5 beds, but can sleep 9 people since 4 beds are double or queen beds. There is also plenty of floor space for sleeping bags if you bring your own. Inside is a full kitchen with refrigerator/freezer, electric glass top stove, microwave, dishwasher, and center island. Cupboards have cookware, dishes, and eating utensils for 9+ people. In addition to the kitchen, the ground floor has 2 bedrooms (a queen bed in one and a double bed in the other); a full bathroom with tub/shower; a laundry room with washer and dryer; and a living room with sectional couch, and TV/DVD player for playing movies. The upstairs has an open floor plan, with a double bed and a queen bed at opposite sides of the house, a single bed, an office nook with a desk and printer, a bathroom with sink and toilet, and a front balcony with 2 rocking chairs. The Willow Haus has front and rear decks for enjoying the fresh air. The rear creek-side deck has a propane barbecue and picnic table, and 2 rocking chairs.
The house adjoins 1/2 mile of stream for great native cutthroat trout fishing. Of course you should have a Montana fishing license. Willow Creek flows into Rock Creek 2.2 miles away, which is the world famous blue-ribbon trout fishing stream. Please bring your own fishing gear.
During the Summer, sightseeing, fishing and hiking are popular. There are many great hikes and lakes in the Anaconda-Pintler mountains within less than an hour's drive from the property. Philipsburg (only 15 minutes away) has a bank, grocery store, hardware store, gas station, bars, churches, restaurants, a micro-brewery, and the Sapphire Gallery and Sweet Palace. You could enjoy an afternoon screening for sapphires at the Sapphire Gallery or indulge your sweet tooth with homemade fudge or a "bear claw" at the Sweet Palace.
There is a good mexican food restaurant on the same block as the Sweet Palace. Having homemade ice cream from the Creamery in Philipsburg is a must!
In the Fall, big game hunters frequent the area and our property could be used as a base camp. Usually after the main hunting season (ha!), herds of deer and elk enjoying the fresh air. The rear creek-side deck has a propane barbecue and picnic table, and 2 rocking chairs.

In the Winter, down-hill skiing can be enjoyed at the Discovery Ski Area. Either bring your own skis or rent them at Discovery. Snowmobiling and ice-fishing are popular at Georgetown Lake, just a 45-minute drive away. At the end of a long day of outdoor recreation, enjoy smores at the back yard fire-pit while you read a good book, play cards or a board game, or watch a video.
The house has WIFI for Internet, but please note that there is no cell phone coverage out there until you connect your cell phone to the house WIFI. It is a quiet getaway from modern civilization and can be a soulful rejuvenation.

We absolutely loved our stay here. It’s super quiet, lots of space inside as well as outside. Wander into Philipsburg for some laid back entertainment. We were impressed with the Silver Mill for lunch or dinner. Tons of deer and other wildlife. We had an eagle do a flyby one morning so close it seemed we could have touched him. The only drawback is we had to leave and come home. Definitely recommend for those looking to get away. If you fly, try Missoula and spend a little time there as well. Very cool mountain town.

The property and accommodations were wonderful. A great location for fly-fishing. Rock Creek is just a stones throw away. The Clark Fork is just up the road. The property itself has Willow Creek. To make it easier on the property a map outlining Willow Creek on the property would be helpful. When coming up Willow Creek Road wonderful spots to fish but dont know if they are on the property. A guide would be helpful. Overall very pleased with the facility.

This house is a fabulous find in the Rock Creek area! We loved fishing on Willow Creek and Rock Creek! The views from the property are tremendous. The house is perfectly appointed. You won't be disappointed if you stay 2 days or two weeks!
