Head to Waikanae Beach in just 3 minutes by foot for your morning stroll or dip, or the river mouth and estuary are just 600m away. There is also plenty of room to park your boat, and with launching access on the beach, you’ll be finding your fresh catch in no time.
Make your way to either Tuktuk Waimea or Long Beach Tavern for a beachfront meal, or try out Waikanae Beach Takeaways for some classic Kiwi fish and chips. The local Four Square is also located a three-minute drive away from Waikanae Waves.

Great place, we wanted somewhere peaceful for a multigenerational get together and it was just what we needed. Good size, great garden, nice views of the lagoon, and well kitted out. If we were asked to make suggestions, then a house info page or pack with the wifi code, rubbish days and cleaning expectations would be helpful. Otherwise great!

It’s a great place for a family staycation. Love that you get a perfect view of the lagoon by the lounge and deck area; have easy access to go for a walk around it too; and it’s also just a few minutes walk away from the beach. However, some areas on the property might need some upgrade or replacing such as stained dishes (mostly cups), slightly worn out fly/insect window screens, and doors for the rooms (it was hard to open & close it without making too much noise). It would also be nice to have a mobile fan as it can get a bit warm sometimes when the doors and windows are shut.But overall, good experience and I would still book this place again :)

A lovely unique location - feel privileged to have time there. Lots of bird song, lovely views over the lagoons. Manicured gardens and local areas. Close to stunning beach. The only downside was communicating w the property manager. The Booka Bach team was excellent especially Caitlin.

Appreciate the location that close to the beach and the pond that overlook from the house. Very clean interior and the plant and flowers outside. Meet the expectation. Plan to pick this bachbeach again.
