The Makerere University Guest House was officially established as a commercial unit of the University in 1990 for the purpose of providing Food and Beverages Service to the University Departments as well as the provision of Accommodation to the visiting University Guests especially visiting lecturers, researchers. It is 100% owned by the University.
Later on as the popularity of the Guest House expanded it opened it’s doors to the general public as a Hotel but transacting under the same old business name of Makerere University Guest House.
