Naftali Guest Farm

Fantastic hosts! The accommodation was a full apartment (not just a room) and very comfortable. Wonderful touches such as fresh flower arrangements on each side of the bed, a beautiful table setting for our meals, top quality towels and linen, goodies in the fridge, selection of teas, plunger coffee, home-made rusks (delicious). Lovely walks around the farm and down to the Orange River. Surine's indigenous gardens full of herbs are glorious - and Surine insisted we take cuttings for home. Take a walk to the stables to see Peu's (Surine's hubby) magnificent award winning horses. Stay at least two nights. We braai'd one night and the next evening we took a short drive to Oranjerus for sundowners and supper alongside the Orange River. Stop at Bezanel for a brandy/wine tasting. Take a drive around Kanoneiland (where you'll find Oranjerus) and visit Kanoniki Padstal.

Welcoming touches like the fresh flowers and herbs as well as a gift of fresh nuts made the stay extra special. The host's personal and friendly attention was much appreciated. Cleanliness and decor were exceptional.

There are some comfortable chairs on the stoep, but we would have liked one or two of those in the room as well, as the evening was too cold to sit outside.

Is there anything not to like. From the moment Surine greets one upon arrival until leaving, one is made to feel more than welcome. She offered and upgrade to the bigger unit. Both units speak of quality from the moment one walks in. The stylish, upmarket furniture and detail such as yoghurt and muesli in the fridge, the variety of teas, the quality linen, the comfortable bed, electrical blanket, constantly reminds one of the care taken to make the stay memorable and comfortable. Add the beautiful surroundings, the herb garden, the horse stables and the tidiness of the entire property and one feels obliged to relax and enjoy the farm. This was an absolutely memorable stay.

That the stay was too short. Nothing to dislike. The attention to detail and quality ensures that there is nothing to dislike.

The personal touch. We felt really welcome. The location is what made us choose. It's quiet, on a farm and away from the noise of the city. Was lekker to be able to walk around and see the farm in the morning. Little things like homemade marmalade, the welcome note, the yogurt in the fridge etc. Really very lekker and we will be back if ever needing a place near Upington. Thanks Serine!

This is a small thing that did not spoil our stay! There was no stove which I feel we could have been informed about prior to arrival, or reflected in some sort of discount to the rate. Fortunately we had our own camping stove so we could easily adapt. So really it's a tiny negative that would have easily been negated with forewarning.
