About this house rental
This lovely 1980's garden level detached house is only 7 kms away from Castillon la Bataille and nestled amongst vineyards. Ideally situated to discover St Emilion, Pomerol, Fronsac or go to visit Bordeaux and Libourne, you'll also enjoy watching the marvellous historical reconstruction of famous Castillon's battle in summer. The house is very close to Périgord with its famous sites and treasures. Living room with fireplace opening onto a terrace, fitted kitchen, relaxation area, 2 bedrooms (1 double, 2 single beds) 1 bathroom and separate wc. 20 sq yards garage. Electrical heating. Stay in the heart of the Bordeaux vineyards and at the gateway to Périgord.

We received the key from a very helpful lady, who unfortunately did not speak any English. However, she gave us a guided-tour of the house, demonstrating the operation of the kitchen equipment, and pointing-out the book containing the listings of nearby places of interest. When we were leaving, this lady, along with two younger women, arrived at the agreed leaving time to collect the key. They were very courteous, and one of the girls gave my wife a postcard, thanking us and wishing us a safe journey home: a very nice touch! Although we were out and about through the day, the house was a welcoming place to return to in the evenings. Although located in the countryside, and approximately 100 metres away from the road, it was surrounded by fields of vines; a very pleasant view when we got up in the mornings!
