Biarritz Surf Lodge Chambre d'hôtes

La surf lodge est très belle et très harmonieusement décorée. Il y a plusieurs espaces qui permettent de retrouver les groupes des autres surfeurs ou rester dans son petit coin à lire un livre. Tout le monde est très sympathique et très chaleureux, on s’y sent vraiment à la maison! Les chambres sont spacieuses, lumineuses et tout est très propre. Le petit déjeuner est un vrai plus, avec plein de bonnes choses: croissants, œufs, fromage de tous genres, confitures, etc. J’ai souvent marché vers les plages et je n’ai pris le bus que quelques fois vers la ville quand je n’avais pas trop envie de marcher. La Côte des Basques est à 15 minutes à pied, la grande plage à 30, sinon il y a des bus qui arrivent chaque 10 minutes. La majeur partie de la marche est au long de la mer, en haut, donc très agréable.

Breakfast was exceptional. The owner laid out a large selection of fresh breads, homemade apple flan, cereals, cheeses, charcuterie ham, juices, jams and eggs to cook yourself - all self service to eat at a large communal table, or eat outside in the beautiful garden. The whole place had a tranquil laid back feel. It was a peaceful haven to return to each day. The rooms were beautiful, well appointed, very comfy bed and stunning bathroom. Lovely 15 minute walk into Biarritz town centre across the top of the town, you have a sea view most of the way. There are also brilliant authentic restaurants nearby and a well stocked supermarket. If you are thinking about booking this place, do it.

It is gorgeous. Beautiful decor and furnishing. Light and airy. Very relaxing. Nora is a great host- gave useful info and keeps everything to a high standard. Lovely communal space inside and out. Bathroom spacious and again all lovely. Breakfast was great- buffet style with fresh baguette, croissant, cake, cheese, yoghurt etc. space in a large fridge freezer and cupboard also to store food. All in all is a gem in Biarritz. A few mins walk to the surf beaches, and right by bus stop into town. Guests have use of surf boards and body boards We mostly walked to town and is 20-30 mins depending where you are heading lovely sunset bar on the way. We easily explored the coast to Bayonne and down to Saint Jean de Luz. Could also go down to San Sébastien. All in all was a great break. It wasn’t long enough and we will be back.
