    We stayed at Far East Village for 6 days prior to our cruise and were very happy with the cleanliness and location of the hotel. We had booked another hotel for 3 days post cruise but decided to cancel that booking and stay at Far East due to the location. We arrived early and dropped our bags at the hotel and enquired what time our room would be ready. After much haggling we were told 2pm . We returned to the hotel at 1pm hot and tired and enquired if our room was ready. They told us our room was ready but couldn’t checkin until 3pm. A supervisor was called as we were told 2pm - she was quite rude and shoved a calculator with 2200 yen at us (she spoke/understood English). Even though we were spending a total of 9 days at this Hotel they would not allow us to checkin an hour earlier without paying, even though our room was clean and vacant. We sat in the Foyer until 1.58pm until they would let us checkin. Really regret cancelling our other booking. Will not be staying at any other Village Hotels if this is their idea of hospitality for hot and weary travellers
