The apartment itself was fine. A bit on the small side, but fine for a three or four days. The terrace does have a view, bit it's mostly of an apartment building with a better view. You can see a bit of the ocean, assuming you crane your neck, but not what I'd call spectacular. That being said, the terrace is large and quite pleasant. The beach below the apartment is the best in Bandol. Its a bit outside the main city, which is great. It is large enough so you don't smell you neighbor's feet (like most beaches in Italy) but small enough to be cozy. Sure there are stairs, but unless one is fat and lazy, they are not the problem they are made out to be in other reviews. In fact, they get the blood pumping a bit after lying in the sun all day, which is great.

Check-in if was a major faf. The hostess insisted on handing over the keys personally, which I only learned in her message after booking's cancelation date expired and I had paid for the stay. It was a major inconvenience because we had to whatsup back and forth to schedule a time and then wait around until she confirmed. So, instead of doing what we went to Bandol to do (lie in the sun on a great beach), we had to wait around in a crappy restaurant so we could adjust to her schedule. If I wanted to adjust to someone's schedule, I would have stayed at work and not gone on vacation. Same thing for the departure. I have no idea when I will wake up and don't want to plan. Its my vacation, so why should I? As it was, I left when I felt like leaving, left her the keys in a secret location, even took pictures and left clear instructions any reasonable person could follow. But, still she threw a hissy fit that we did not meet personally. What a major PITA. That said, if you love meeting hosts and listen to 30 minute lectures about what to visit and what to do, then check-in was fantastic. If, on the other hand, you prefer lock boxes that don't eat into your time or hosts that don't explain how you should spend your vacation, not so much.
