Welcome to Salty & Sandy (Downstairs Duplex), a cozy 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom beach house duplex in the East End of Gulf Shores, Alabama. Perfect for a small group or family, this pet-friendly retreat sleeps up to 7 and offers access to a shared outdoor pool and hot tub, all just minutes from the sand and Gulf State Park.

Primary Bedroom: King-size bed with plush bedding and beachy decor for a restful escape.
Guest Bedroom: Twin-over-full bunk bed—great for kids or a small group.
Living Room: Sleeper sofa provides flexible sleeping arrangements and a comfy place to lounge.
Kitchen & Dining: The fully equipped kitchen features appliances, cookware, and all the essentials for meals at home.

BEACHBALL PROPERTIES VACATION RENTAL POLICIES:
• RENTAL AGREEMENT: Tenant Vacation Rental Agreement must be electronically signed to secure your reservation. Please read carefully. This is a legally binding document.
• NO SMOKING: All properties are non-smoking.
• AGE RESTRICTION: Must be at least 25 years older to book a BEACHBALL PROPERTIES vacation rental. A person 25 years or older must be staying at the property for the entire duration of the booking. There will be no refunds issued for anyone booking under false pretenses.
• CHECK-IN: Check-in is at 4PM. Early check-in is not possible, sorry but no exceptions.
• CHECK-OUT: Check-out is at 10AM. Check out after 10AM will be charged an additional day.
• DOG-FRIENDLY PROPERTIES: If you are staying at a dog-friendly property, you MUST notify us and pay a non-refundable dog deposit. Failure to do so will result in us charging your card for the entire amount authorized for damage.
• MONTHLY/SNOWBIRD RENTALS: Available from November through February. Call to ask about monthly rates.
• PARKING PASSES: 2 - The cost of parking passes is set by each Homeowner's Association and is subject to change at any time without notice. U-hauls, trailers, boats, jet skis, buses, etc. are not allowed on property.
• CANCELLATION POLICY RELAXED: Guests who cancel at least 30 days before check-in shall receive a 100% refund of the amount they have paid. For cancellations between 14 and 30 days before check-in, 50% of the total reservation costs shall be refunded. For cancellations made less than 14 days prior to the beginning date of the reservation, NO REFUNDS will be issued. Refunds shall not be issued for late arrivals, early departures, or inclement weather conditions including hurricanes and named storms. We do offer optional travel insurance which we highly encourage all guests to purchase.
• WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING: Guests receive a “starter pack” of laundry detergent, dish washing detergent, one trash bag per trash can, and travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, and soap per bathroom. Starter supplies are not intended to last for the duration of your stay. Linens are furnished but please bring your own beach towels.

The property was in need of some repair. The bathroom ceiling Sheetrock was peeling from ceiling. I’m assuming there was a leak from upstairs unit and repairs to downstairs unit was not completed. In a previous review black mold was mentioned in the ceiling in living room/kitchen and that was not removed. They tried to cover it up . The pool and hot tub were pretty but the hot tub had a waterfall into the pool and both the pool and hot tub were hotter than air temp. I was there in aug so the pool was not refreshing. The hot tub jets were very weak we ended up not using either the pool or the hot tub. Kitchen had pots and pans that definitely needed to be replaced. One nonstick fry pan was soo burnt you couldn’t use it.!
On the positive side the king bed was very comfortable

We loved the house and neighborhood. Just a heads up to those staying on the ground level, you can hear people moving on the second floor. We were actually woken up at 2a.m because someone upstairs decided to have a mini party. The pool was nice and so was the hot tub. However, it was a bit dirty on the bottom. I understand that the trees around it drops leaves, but the stuff on the bottom had been there a while. And the hot tub had sand in it, but it was still enjoyable.Overall, we loved it and would stay again.
