About this house rental

Lilliput Lodge is a large house in Lilliput, Poole near to Sandbanks that has been renovated. The house has a hot tub, games room, with a table tennis table, darts board, BBQ and has been renovated. Renovation was complete in May 2022.

GROUND FLOOR:
• Kitchen has a washing machine, American fridge freezer, slimline dishwasher, cooker, microwave, toaster, range of cooking utensils.
• Dining Room has a dining table
• Living Room / 6th bedroom has chair, sofas (1 sofa is a sofa bed), table and a large Smart TV
• 5th Bedroom / Playroom: bed, chair, toys
• Games room with table tennis table and darts board
• Downstairs toilet

FIRST FLOOR:
• Master bedroom is a large room with a double bed, large wardrobe, side tables
• Bedroom 2 with a double bed
• Bedroom 3 with 2 single beds
• Bedroom 4 with a double bed

Lovely, beueitiful, big place to stay ,very friendly and helpful hosts, I stayed there for a weekend with my friends to celebrate my 40th birthday and see San Fest festival, supposed to check out at 10am on Monday morning but the weather wasn't so great and we was leaving Bournemouth to London around 6pm ,so I contacted lovely owners let us stay for a bit longer. So yeah everything is nice ,the place and host's are 10 out 10.

ProsCommunication with the host in advance of our visit was easy. The rooms are all very large and there was plenty of communal space (lounge and dining room) for our party of 8 dog. ConsThe photos have been very carefully staged, the property is most definitely NOT renovated. Key issues we had were: big damp patch on one of the ceilings and a smell of damp throughout, curtains that didn't fit or were missing, no lock on the toilet door, broken garden furniture. Overall the property felt very tired and could do with having window frames and carpets replaced, sinks updated or removed. The advert says 6 bedrooms. It is 5 bedrooms (which was enough for our group) but other visitors should be aware that the 6th bedroom is also the lounge. The advert says 2 bathrooms, 1 half bathroom. There is one bathroom (with shower, sink, no toilet); one toilet (no sink) and one toilet with sink under the stairs. We contacted both the host and VRBO within 24 hours of arriving. The host insisted that the house was renovated and offered an additional night's stay which was not suitable for our plans (and wasn't something we wanted!). VRBO were not helpful and despite my sending pictures of the property's condition were not able to intervene to help.

The property title 'renovated' and photos do not match the actual property. It is in definite need of a renovation, that has not been done yet. While there was enough space for our group of 10 people, things like the kitchen lacking stock made it extremely difficult to cook. Only one small/medium frying pan, one small/ medium pot and the tiniest cheese grater. We had to do a lot of improvising at each meal, even cooking one bag of pasta in three stages. There are large water stains in a few rooms on the ceilings and the radiators in front bedrooms weren't working. While we were happy to have a space to fit us all, we'll not stay here again. Thank you.

The house was nice and clean with lovely clean cotton bedding and towels, and lots of small touches left like toiletpaper and handwash. There was also a hot tub which was vreat. The hosts were very helpful and also left a folder with instructions on how to use items in the house and the Wifi code. We were staying with 7 adults, 2 children and a dog. We all had a nice bedroom ( 5) and had a great time. We would certainly book it again. It was fabulous. Thank you very much!

We had a great weekend here with friends, lots of space inside and out and so close to the beach and other local activities. The hosts were great at communicating and we had no issues during our stay. Although we had a bit of a surprise when the 2.5 bathrooms turned out to be 1 shower room and 2 small loo rooms without any loo role - which for a house accommodating 12 was not what we had anticipated!

Just as advertised, simple process, excellent communication and a very enjoyable stay. Even the weather was superbly arranged for us.
