1941M Homestay Tà Xùa

Einfach nur großartig! Lage, Lage, Lage einfach unbezahlbar. Stil- und liebevoll gestaltete Räume. Und wenn bei Sonnenaufgang der Nebel ins Tal zieht… unvergesslich!

The hosts family was very sweet and accommodating. We felt like we were at home. The property is rustic and has a sweet charm to it, and we liked the rural location.

The homestay is about half an hour from Ta Xua Centre so it can be a bit difficult and expensive to get to, but it is very close to Dinosaur Spine so it’s not technically inconvenient. The soundproofing isn’t great so it may not be the best for light sleepers, but we had a decent sleep regardless

The room had a cute ethnic design. The staff was quite friendly and nice and they offered us hot herbal tea when we arrived. The location is quite convenient for people who want to go to the Dinosaur Spine for that early morning cloud hunt. They have a great view of the mountains and the mist from the yard. But above all, the thing I enjoyed most here was the dogs, definitely the sweetest, smartest dogs I've met.

Unfortunately, there were lots of things that stained my stay here. The biggest problem was there were a lot of kids (4 and then 2 more of the neighbours' kids as well). I understand that this is not a hotel, and we share the property with the owner family, but it was way too much for us. I don't know if this is usually the case around here because we came in summer (so kids have no school), and we were the only guests that night so the kids had a lot of space around to play. Our room was on the 1st floor of a stilt house, kids kept running on the 2nd floor's wooden floor until bedtime, then started again from 6:30a.m. We had a rough night and couldn't sleep much because my boyfriend felt a bit sick (and OH RIGHT! There was no water in the bathroom from 10p.m), and we were woken up by all the noise. We decided to go to the kitchen for some hot water and breakfast anyway, and it turned out the water pipes were slashed by random people. Her staff forgot to give us a bucket of water like she asked. I understand it was not their fault, but it was such a big inconvenience. We went back to the room to get some more sleep, but the kids' voices were just really blasting outside and I had to open the door to complain. Only then did the adults start to tell the kids to go play elsewhere and leave us alone. I would have really appreciated it if they had thought about it themselves, without me having to show a grumpy face. When we paid their quite ignorant attitudes towards all the things we went throught just 1 night there just really pissed me off. The room was a bit pricier than some others downtown with fewer amenities, no air con, but we had expected that it would come with tranquility and a more authentic experience. Not the case. Also the owners were quite nice to us, but from what we saw, the way they treated their staff was a bit harsh.
