The upper villas are definitely a better option for us older bodies as they are easier access (although still up A frame stairs) the amenities are better and more substantial. Klaudja is a real gem and is very attentive and professional. Breakfast was awesome and set us up for almost our entire day. Evening meals were well prepared and great value too #nomnom Very close to Rozafa Castle too and just out of town enough as well :) kafe e mrekullueshme… faleminderit shumë për mikpritjen tuaj

Warm & Wholesome!

From start to finish, our stay with Alex and Clodi was absolutely wonderful. We arrived a little earlier than expected, and they went above and beyond to prepare our room right away so we could get settled in. We would’ve been perfectly happy to wait until the usual check-in time, but they insisted on making sure we were comfortable, such genuine kindness! ☺️ We had dinner at the on-site Aleksi Restorant both nights, and the food was exceptional. The quality and freshness were outstanding! Clodi kindly brought out some traditional Albanian dishes for us to try, including homemade Albanian cornbread, as well as fruits and vegetables from their own garden. Everything was delicious and prepared with so much care. Their homemade wine was another lovely surprise, smooth and very enjoyable! The menu focuses mainly on fish, and every dish we tried was incredible. My wife had the sea bass and seafood linguini, while I enjoyed the crab meatballs and breaded shrimp, all freshly caught from Lake Shkoder or the sea. Truly, we couldn’t have asked for better meals. Breakfast each morning was just as wonderful, Albanian pancakes with homemade fig jam, fresh cucumbers and tomatoes, fried eggs, coffee, and blueberry tea. Every bite felt homemade and prepared with love. On the first full day of our stay, we got a minibus from Shkoder up to Theth for a day of hiking, which provided some incredible scenery! Due to this, we had an early start and sadly missed breakfast. Clodi prepared some sandwiches for us to take as a packed lunch, which really hit the spot! What kindness! Our accommodation was spotless and so comfortable. The bed was cosy, the bathroom immaculate, and the shower perfect. The hot tub was the cherry on top, a relaxing treat that made our stay even more special. Alex and Clodi, if you’re reading this, thank you so much for your incredible hospitality. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed and cared for. You made our time in Albania unforgettable.

Great place with a very attentive host!

We had our start of a longer trip through Albania at Alex's house and it was amazing! They were really kind, the breakfast was simply great and the perfect start for the day. We enjoyed some house wine in the cozy seats in front of the house. Thanks a lot for this wonderful experience.

Unfortunately the water in the shower's floor runs away from the drain and the shower stays wet for quite long.

Exceptional hosts, great location, super little lodge!

Alex and his wife are exceptional hosts. They make you feel so welcome, it was like visiting friends rather than staying in a hotel. Food is very good, specialises in fish. The lodge has a fabulous view of the lake. We didn’t have a hire car, the hosts lent us 2 bicycles which we used to cycle to Shiroka and swim in the lake and into central Shkoder. Although positioned above an averagely busy road you don’t notice this. Alex and his wife are hugely helpful, they even gave us a lift to meet our ongoing transport. The lodge is comfortable with AC, fridge, TV and Eggs chairs to enjoy the view.

There is very little we didn’t like. The only suggestion would be if travelling with children consider the safety element of them sleeping on the mezzanine, the access to ladder does not have railings and needs to used carefully.

Owners are very kind and the place is very well located near lake beaches,the Fortress and the city.

The view, the owners Alex and Claudie are very kind and at your service, give fruits and smiling. The house is very original with a great view, a lot of parking. The air cond is well fonctionning. We saw wild turtle in the parking. The breakfast is very good, salty the first day and sweet the second day. Alex restaurant is very convenient, good and i recommend. For the sunset, the terrasse in front of the house is perfect.

Suggestion :a fan at 1st level would be good to mix the ambiant air and the air cond. But all is perfect.

Warm and Peaceful Place

I stayed here for just one night, but the place left a very warm impression on me. The sunset was especially memorable — it was beautifully visible during dinner, right from the terrace overlooking the scenic Lake Shkodra. The food was delicious and felt homemade with care. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. I had to leave very early in the morning, and the hostess thoughtfully packed me a breakfast to go: a pancake, fresh fruit, and homemade strawberry jam. It was such a touching gesture. Thank you for the cozy atmosphere, attention, and hospitality!

A well-equipedd bungalow with a great view of the Skhider lake

We have arrived at the accomodation just at sunset, and the view was magnificent. Skoder lake, behind the mountains with the sounds of the wildlife at the lake, truly wonderful. The owner was very kind, attentative, hospitable, she even brought us some wine and strawberries one night. The terrace has some comfortable seating possibilitites and it is quite nice to spend the evening there with the view. The villa was well-equipped, the bed was comfortable, good wifi connection. Be aware, only cash is accepted, but euros/leks are both fine. The breakfast was also a big portion and very tasty. We loved our stay here, and would not hesitate to come back.

The only con that you should be aware of is the proximity of a road, with quite big traffic. The villa is not soundproof so you will definitely hear it, but honestly it did not bother us. The traffic gets lighter as the night approaches. Also the shower is lacking an adjustable head, only a fixed one from the top is available. But honestly everything was great, these are just small things to know or maybe improve.

Exceptional hosts and location

Superb location, right outside of Shkoder, but near it (10-15mins by car), right on the lake with excellent views, and near Shiroke if you want to catch a dinner there. Our hosts were EXCEPTIONAL. Nice, friendly, accommodating, always ready to help. We told them we couldn't catch the breakfast one day because we had to leave early at 6am to get a tour of Komani lake and they brought us bottled Nescafe and juice and bananas the evening before. We hadn't planned for that, they just did it to help us! Throughout the stay, they also went above and beyond each time with breakfast. On top of the regular eggs, cheese, fruits, veggies, we had homemade lasagna once and the owner's birthday cake another time. We even came back for lunch (they run a restaurant near the cabins) one day and it was all delicious, homemade, fresh, and very affordable. The accommodation itself has free parking, a seated area outside overlooking the lake, good light and electrical plugs, a comfy sofa, a mini-fridge, a full bathroom with plenty of towels, an A/C, plus a comfortable mattress with good bedding (nothing synthetic or cheap) and a small bedside table upstairs.

I'm nitpicking here, but I think a couple of things could be improved for a more perfect experience: - The pillows are a bit thin. Perhaps a choice of thick pillows would be welcome. Or do what I do and travel with your own pillow. It helps in all hotels. - The very big shower head's water pressure was low. It took me 5-10mins to rinse my hair, so if you have thick hair like I do, take that into consideration. Maybe a smaller shower head that concentrates the pressure would improve this. It would also be great to have a shower hose to better wash all parts of the body. - The A/C's position is perfect for the living room and lower floor, but it doesn't properly cool up the bedroom. So when we were sitting at the lower floor, we kept the A/C around 26 degrees, but when sleeping, we had to lower it to 20-22 degrees to survive the heat. It feels a bit inefficient, but I don't know if anything can be done about this to improve it.

Cute family run business

Absolutely amazing stay. Staff were amazing and very welcoming. The huts are well made and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and the family run aspect was very sweet.

Adorable cabins on quiet, beautiful lake!

The campers were so adorable, and everything was very nice and comfortable. Our hosts were exceptional, with an amazing breakfast each morning and one night we had dinner as well, it was delicious. Everything was local, with homemade jam, bread, and other produce. The location is amazing, the road it is on has a nice path for biking or walking. A bit of a drive down the road is Shiroka town, and access to swimming on the lake. We had an amazing stay, and wish we were there longer. I would highly recommend and would stay again. It is a short drive into Shkoder, and very quiet.

Very good

Excellent location, nice breakfast, and an amazing view over the lake. The houses were just as shown in the pictures and offered a very nice vibe. The owners were also very helpful and friendly.

The only thing we didn't like was the fact that at night we could not sit outside our room and enjoy the view over the lake because there were a lot of bugs/mosquitoes. It would be nice if they owners could supply some kind of repellents or spray the exterior.

Alex and her family are super nice and we felt very welcomed. The breakfast was super delicious and included tasty fruits from their own garden. The view to the lake is fantastic, great sunset spot.

Even though we liked our stay because of the hosts, there are just a little things which would have been good to know as we hoped for a very calm place. The street in front of the house was not quiet during the night and as the house is not soundproofed, it was really loud. Also the missing curtains at the top let all the streetlights shine into the bedroom which made it hard to feel asleep.

The stay in Alex's house made our trip to Albania special! The owners are the sweetest and kindest people we have ever met, they are doing everything to make the stay perfect! The accomodation was very cozy, super clean, the sheets and towels smelled really good. The breakfast was traditional Albanian and delicious as well! They also have their own restaurant next to the houses where they offer great meals with fresh ingredients which you can definitely taste plus the view of lake makes everything just dreamy! The lady can speak English perfectly so no problem with communication :). You come as guest and leave like a friend - 100% would recommend

A beautiful place by the lake!

A beautiful house by the lake. The owners of the house are also the owners of the restaurant next door where you can grab a bite without worrying of going anywhere else. The place is beautiful with the views of river Bojana and the lake. So peaceful and relaxing. The hosts are great and very friendly and accommodating. A place I would definitely come back to!
