Enchanting place to stay

Michael and Juliette could not have been more welcoming and friendly. Really helpful with advice about the local area. We had three evening meals in their quaint restaurant below the apartment and really enjoyed them and the local wines. The building itself is very old and is located in the medieval centre of Murat. This is fascinting to wander round with lots of quirky streets. At the back of the village is a very steep volcanic outcrop with a statue on top which makes a dramatic backdrop. We caught the annual cornet festival which was on Sept 22 (don't know if it is that date every year). Biscuits are folded into cornet shapes and filled with loads of different fillings sold from stalls through the town. There were bands and dancing - a lively event enjoyed by locals and tourists. Recommended.

Excellent location, friendly host, restuarant downstairs, quiet, good views, well-equipped kitchen, comfy beds, good wifi, great selection of local books and maps, good local shops and bars.

would have found it useful to have a chest of drawers in bedrooms, and wifi password on info board in apartment.

Das altehrwürdige Haus liegt in der Altstadt von Murat. Parkplatz gibt es mit Glück vor dem Haus, oder um die Ecke auf kostenlosen Parkplätzen die Gastgeber sind einfach sympathisch und authentisch, hilfsbereit und haben gute Tipps. Zudem kocht Michael perfekt.

Wenn eine ganz und gar authentische Unterkunft bei einem Gastgeber, der zuvorkommend, auf Wünsche eingehend und sehr freundlich ist, gewünscht wird, dann ist man bei Mikael genau richtig. Auf unseren Wunsch hin hat er für eine Gruppe von 13 Leuten ein wunderbares Menü gekocht. Das Frühstück ist umfangreich, abwechselungsreich. Diese herzliche Gastfreundschaft macht kleinere Nachteile eines sehr alten Hauses wett. Die Appartments des Hauses sind individuell gestaltet, mit viel Platz. Die Lage des Hauses mitten im Ort ist sehr gut, Murat absolut eine Reise wert.

Die Zimmer sind etwas hellhörig, die Treppe zum App. im 2. Stock steil (für Gäste mit Gehbehinderung eher schwierig) - was bei alten Häusern wohl schwer zu vermeiden ist.

Hôte et appartement authentique et sympathique juste à côté du marché du centre ville. Bien chauffé en hiver et confortable pour explorer les environs. Avec volets et rideaux dans les 2 pièces pour bien dormir.

Espace cuisine un peu vieux mais tout fonctionne, oreillers du salon pourraient être un peu mieux/plus fermes.
