Le Casette del Porto di Sciacca

Il comfort, in particolare il bagno enorme e ben curato. Tutto nuovissimo. Perfettamente integrata con il bellissimo paesaggio del porto di Sciacca

Nice views of the harbour and the sea. Air conditioning worked more or less OK. Standard is quite good. It was quite easy to find a free parking on the street.

The first thing you see when you come inside is the garbage collection schedule, and in the kitchenette there is a big sign saying that even if you pay 100+ euro per night for the stay, you are also expected to clean the kitchenette before you leave, or you will have a fine of 25 euro. Not really a setting that make you feel that you're on a holiday. In the end the air conditioning worked well, but it took many hours to get the temperature down to a reasonable level at first when we arrived. There is a key system that means that if you want to sit on the terrace, you must turn off the electricity and the AC inside, so not possible to load a telephone or have the AC getting the temperature down while sitting outside. Also quite poorly equipped, i.e. no tea cups at all, so it was not possible to make tea. Only one (1) single espresso cup and no tea cups. We would probably not return to this place next time in Sciacca.

We really appreciated the host’s assistance and hospitality throughout our stay. The apartment was lovely, spacious and comfortable, with two double bedrooms and a beautiful view overlooking the port.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed by Sciacca itself. The town felt quite dirty and polluted, and the general maintenance of the port appeared to have been neglected for a long time. The nearby beach, which is accessible on foot, was also unfortunately very dirty and poorly maintained.
