As one of England's oldest castles, the village of Pevensey offers visitors the chance to travel back in time as they tour the imposing ruins or explore the dungeons. Pevensey Bay is also a haven for wildlife, so while you're here, why not have a dip in the water? A day at Drusillas Zoo makes for a memorable experience for kids of all ages. You may also spend the day in the village of Alfriston, which has cobblestone streets and antique stores. Stone Cross is a great spot to stay if you want to explore the coast or the numerous neighbouring ancient towns because it has great transportation connections to all of Sussex and into London.
