Onset is a charming coastal town known as the "Gateway to Cape Cod" as it is the last town before crossing the bridge to the Cape. Centrally located between Boston and Rhode Island and only 20 minutes to historic Plymouth, it a convenient location from which to explore New England. 6-minute drive to Mass Maritime Academy. Less than 15–20-minute drive to upper Cape Cod: Bourne, Falmouth, Sandwich. And just over 30 minutes to Mid-Cape towns such as Hyannis, Dennis, and Yarmouth. (Times do not factor in traffic conditions)
For families members having trouble with stairs, there is one bedroom and full bath on the first floor as well as a sleeper sofa in living room. 2 Bedrooms and another bathroom on 2nd floor.
Very short walk to Onset Village (family-owned restaurants and year-round festivals) and pristine Onset Beach. Open floor plan on main floor perfect for vacations, Cape Cod wedding guests, and out of town family. There is a small neighborhood beach 4 houses down that is perfect for families with young children. Then a larger beach another 4 houses down. Onset is on Buzzard's Bay, so the water here is warmer and calmer than typical ocean tides and has soft sandy beaches (less rocks but great shell collecting). Walk to kayak and boat rentals, Cape Cod Canal Cruises, and the Water Wizz seasonal water park is only a 5-minute drive.
We have received many compliments on the coastal theme, providing a relaxing retreat as soon as you walk through the door. Gorgeous wrap around covered porch to enjoy your morning coffee, evening cocktail or gaze upon Onset's spectacular, colorful sunsets. Turn on the fairy lights for added sparkle at night. Loaded with amenities: hot/cold outdoor shower, beach cart, beach chairs, beach towels, cooler, patio, gas grill, full kitchen & laundry, indoor fireplace, jetted bathroom tub, and all bedrooms and living room are equipped with smart TVs.
There is a lounge area outside for anyone wanting quiet time in the coastal air (or teen refuge) with a good book or simply an afternoon nap amongst the outdoor decor and seashell landscaping. Enjoy our coffee/tea bar with to-go cups to fuel up and begin your adventures. Pack and Play, toddler utensils, booster seat and children's books available onsite. Two private parking spaces in the driveway and street parking on a first come basis. Set up with everything you need for a short or long-term stay.
The Zandy Castle, is named after my mother Sandy. It was built in 1880 - exterior Victorian charm with a modern interior. Onset was a seaside resort in the Victorian era for wealthy Bostonians. You will still see Victorian homes sprinkled around town today. The Zandy Castle was presented with a plaque from the Wareham Historical Society which recognizes historical homes with unique period architecture.
Since we want you to truly relax and enjoy your vacation, there is no laundry list of "chores" to do before checking out. Afterall, isn't THAT what the cleaning fee is for?

This place is beautiful. Everything was just as listed. The owner was very very helpful and communicative! This location is in close walking proximity to beaches and the charming town. The renovation they did on this historical home is pretty amazing. I recommend and would stay here again!

This was one of the best VRBO's we've stayed in! Everything was top-notch and the village was so cute. The hosts were very communicative and nice. We highly recommend this location.

The porch wraps around the front of the house. There is a little bit of yard with a tranquility area and an outdoor shower. Walking in from the door next to the driveway, you enter a good-sized kitchen with a bathroom directly in front of you and a laundry room with full-sized washer and dryer ahead and to the left. There is plenty of dining space with a kitchen island and stools and a dining room table. The kitchen, dining area, and living area are all one open space. Next to the downstairs bathroom is a guest bedroom. Upstairs is another guest bedroom, a master bedroom, and a bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. All the interior decorations and furnishings are clean and beach-themed. Each bedroom has its own TV. Plenty of space, we felt safe and secure, and enjoyed our walks to the water. The hostess was prompt and courteous with her communications.
