Cozy Oasis Getaway in Dominican Republic

Very nice place, accurately described. I underestimated the distance from the center of Cabarete but it’s ok. Security guards and local community are nice people. Worth staying if you want peace and relaxation.

Ideally located on the beach with incredible views of the sunrise. Check-in was a breeze. Marving, the security guard who carried our bags to the condo.The first day we noticed the TV wasn't working. Marcia immediately had a technician attend and after attempting to repair it, a new (and larger) TV was delivered and set up for us.The condo is bright and roomy inside. The furniture is comfortable and the bed was super comfy. We bonded instantly with many of the other Canadian guests and enjoyed many a happy hour each afternoon in the gazebo, with bocci ball being played under the shade of many of the palm trees.We spent almost every morning sitting on the gazebo enjoying our coffee and some of the beautiful dogs who would take time out from their frolicking on the beach to visit while we waited on the stunning sunrises.Daily walks for miles along the deserted beach with one or two dogs were part of the relaxed lifestyle. As an example, on the 4 km (return) beach walk to the Boca River one morning, we met one other person...and two dogs. Walking the other direction, a mile walk would bring you to Martini's beach bar. We did not have a vehicle but only needed a taxi a few times to get into town for supplies. Many staples were available from the local family run stores a couple blocks away. There a couple of great eateries and bars within a couple blocks as well. Hated to return home, unlike previous vacations, when we are usually anxious to get home.
