Amare suite

Thanks Maria for a fabulous holiday in your most delightful apartment. We couldn’t have chosen any better - from gorgeous gardens and amazing terrace to a very comfortable bed and modern living. Maria was very friendly bringing us fresh eggs, avocados and lemons from her garden. Communication before our stay was an excellent. Only a 10 drive to the park and ride into Chania -and an hour from Balos, the accommodation was perfectly placed. You do need a car although the supermarket, bakery and a couple of restaurants are in walking distance. We had a very peaceful stay. It’s the basement apt in a two blocks of two floor buildings and neighbours are very quiet. I’d had reservations the terrace would be too enclosed but it always had a lovely breeze from the nearby trees. The Balinese bed and hot tub were a nice touch but the hanging egg chair was my fave spot so much so I’m buying one when I get home!

Having to leave

Era tutto perfetto. Casa super accessoriata, pulitissima, accogliente con piscina ad uso privato, sdraio, ombrelloni e piante fiorite. Ogni dettaglio è curato alla percezione. L'host è gentilissima e molto disponibile. La posizione è fantastica perché in mezzo al verde ma a 10 minuti da Chania. Spero di ritornare e questa volta fermare.i pia lungo. Ve la consiglio assolutamente!

I like the unit, it was very clean and up to date. I loved that it was very private and we had a washing machine.

I came to find out that there was NO dryer. The first night of 2 that we stayed there. I did a load of laundry but had to hang them outside at night. They didn't dry until the next day in the afternoon. I did a 2nd load later that day I hung them outside they were taking forever to dry so I asked Maria for a fan but it didn't help. By the time we had to leave at 6am the morning of check out our cloths were still wet. We had to pack them like that which made our luggage heavy and stinky. My question is how you going to have a washing machine and not a dryer? If I would have realized there was no dryer I would have book somewhere else. It actually made things more stressful for us. The first night we wanted to use the jacuzzi but it took an hour for it to heat up so since we showed late because we had to drive 2 hours to get there and the only ferry got us there around 6pm we were tired and just got in when it was luke warm. When my husband was getting out, the step underneath the jacuzzi was wet so he slipped and hit head on the step. He turned out to be ok but bruised and he did have a cut on the back of his head. Maria is very nice and she has a beautiful place but we didn't have a great experience there over all. There is also nothing really close. It seemed like to me that everything like dinner or activities were at least 20 to 30mins away.
