Ruhige Lage am Rand der Altstadt. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten im historischen Stadtkern und in dessen näherem Umfeld (z.B. das Samaniden-Mausoleum) sowie der Basar sind zu Fuß zu erreichen. Nach wenigen Minuten ist man in der Fußgängerzone, in die die Bakhowuddin Nakshbandi Straße (frühere Leninstraße) übergeht. Es gibt im Umfeld der Unterkunft also keinen Durchgangsverkehr. Das Frühstück war vielfältig und hat mir ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Der Gastgeber spricht Englisch und Russisch und ist sehr hilfsbereit - Javohir hat mir den Transfer nach Samarkand organisiert. In der unteren Etage des "Vierseiten-Hauses" wohnt seine Familie, so dass man einen kleinen Einblick in das usbekische Familienleben bekommen kann. Ich konnte z.B. an der Feierstunde zur Schuleinführung seines Sohnes teilnehmen. Nur wenige Meter entfernt (an der Ecke zur Leninstraße) befindet sich ein kleiner Lebensmittelladen, der abends lange geöffnet hat.

HAVAS Guest House is very conveniently located, only 5min from city centre and the landmarks. Especially in the heat of the day, if walking in the baking sun got too much, I could pop back in to relax in my cool, air-conditioned room before hitting again the streets of Bukhara. Both the room and the bathroom are well proportioned, beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean. The owners are very nice, kind and helpful people. They were always available whenever I needed them for which I'm very grateful.

Perfect location and hospitality, plus the beds are comfy and the breakfast is great!
