Howells Mere 70, Sunnybank

the location of the property was lovely, overlooking the nature reserve lake, very tranquil, enjoyed looking out over the swans and their cygnets. The house was big enough for our party and well equipped for a large party. The house was clean on arrival and beds made up appropriately. The internet was good and the large screen tv was very good. The Lower Mill Estate was situated in a very lovely area with very good access to many places of interest. Walking round the estate was great and the nature trail was lovely, although we didn't see any beavers despite going out at twilight. A good place to stay for a large family party.

The balcony, where the BBQ and table with 8 chairs were situated, was not cleaned prior to our arrival, the bbq was very dusty and covered in cobwebs as was the table and chairs, despite stating in the information folder that they had been cleaned and a cloth to keep it clean was provided!! The hot water went off on our 2nd day, so 9 people couldn't have a shower, however this was fixed by lunchtime after a call to the office. the site had good facilities but these had insufficient capacity for the influx over the bank holiday weekend. The restaurant was quickly full and the pizza hut couldn't cope with the orders. The pizzas were overpriced and very lacking in toppings when we finally got them. One of the outdoor pools was closed and had been since Christmas, I think this could have been organised better so it was open for the bank holiday weekend, which was very sunny!!

Very dirty on the veranda at the front of the property
