The country house was renovated with great care using sustainable materials and features, on the first floor, an entryway, a bathroom, and a spacious kitchen-living room with a fireplace, a cozy dining area, and a seating area overlooking the large natural garden. Here, you can warm up by the fire in the historic tiled stove and relax.
Upstairs, you’ll find a spacious, light-filled bedroom with a luxurious box-spring bed and a restored antique bed for a child. Here, you can look out the window in the morning and watch deer while you eat breakfast.
Franciskas Barn is located in a natural garden with its own herb garden and direct access to a large forest that’s perfect for long hikes.
You’re welcome to use the sauna and laundry area in the basement of the neighboring house by arrangement.
Spend your vacation in this idyllic retreat and enjoy the peace and beauty of nature. From the garden, you have direct access to a vast forest area and can also reach the idyllic and very clean Kupa River on foot or by car. There, everyone can find their own secluded spot or explore the river while rafting or kayaking. In addition to hiking and riding your own mountain bike, you can take day trips by car to explore the Plitvice Lakes and other nature reserves (Risnjak), discover the capital city of Zagreb, or go swimming in an hour’s drive at the beautiful little coves around Rijeka. People who prefer cooler weather, in particular, will be delighted to return to their vacation home in Simatovo in the evening and enjoy a comfortable night’s sleep.
