Town: On the lovely borderlands where England and Wales brush against one another along Offa's Dyke, Leominster is situated. The town of Leominster, which dates back to the seventh century, is home to several outstanding specimens of architecture, including the Priory Church, as well as a large range of stores, cafes, and pubs. It is the perfect place to spend a peaceful afternoon ambling around in pleasant surroundings. Tenbury Wells, a minor market town nearby, is located along the banks of the River Teme. Tenbury Wells, which dates to the Iron Age and is rumoured to have been Queen Victoria's "little town in the orchard," is home to a remarkable 18th-century bridge constructed by Thomas Telford, the magnificent Pump Rooms, which housed baths where local mineral water was available, and numerous other 17th-century listed structures. Croft Castle, Berrington Hall, the Judge's Lodgings at Presteigne, Stokesay Castle, the famed Shropshire Hills Discovery Centre, and the Acton Scott Historic Working Farm are just a few of the National Trust sites in the area. These are all well worth a visit. Discover Hereford with its fascinating Mappa Mundi world map and the captivating chained library, which houses a collection of rare and ancient books, or try some of Herefordshire's renowned cider. Nearby Bromyard has an air of antiquity and many half-timbered buildings, which helps visitors unwind among a good range of pubs, restaurants, and shops. With its majestic castle and more than 500 listed buildings, the charming mediaeval market town of Ludlow is a wonderful day trip. Ironbridge and Hay-on-Wye are both close by. Further wonderful day trips are to the spectacular Black Mountains, Brecon Beacons National Park, and breathtaking Malvern Hills.
