Welcome to paradise on the pristine shores of Hood Canal! Awe inspiring waterfront studio with massive concrete prow and dock! Your doors open to epic views, sights and sounds! Ideally situated in the center of Calm Cove with protected water ideal for swimming, sunbathing and launching your kayak adventures. Outdoor fireplace affords the ultimate fireside experience! Perfectly located between Alderbrook Resort & Spa and Downtown Union!
The space
As much as we love pets, this one of a kind studio has a strict no pet policy. We only accept up to 2 registered guests. Thank you and we wish you the most pleasurable stay on Hood Canal!
Enjoy complimentary coffee, beach towels, small propane BBQ and a restful time after a full day at the beach. We just added a mid size refrigerator in the beach closet which is attached to the cabin near the driveway. This will help with extra beverages, food storage and ice (only a mini fridge inside the accommodation).
Please be advised that owner occasionally needs access to the boat on the dock. Boat is not for guest use. Respectfully, Kerry your property manager will communicate as early as possible via the Airbnb message platform regarding when the owner needs to access the dock during your stay.
Favorite things to do while staying here:
-Relax, unwind, be captivated by nature. Our rustic fireplace is one of the top highly rated reasons why guests love Dockside! Aside from the view, epic dock and beach access of course :).
-Hang out on the dock ALL. DAY. LONG. Swim, kayak, sunbath, sit and read! Then grill dinner on our propane grill and enjoy eating at the picnic table while taking in the sunset. Grab some wine from Cameo Boutique & Wine Shop (tell them Kerry sent you!).
-Reserve 2 single kayaks for $25 each (entire stay!) to paddle from the protected waters of Calm Cove to the Union City Market and have brunch or dinner at its popular "Canal Cook Out". Just ask Kerry to reserve and deliver your kayaks via the Airbnb message platform. Due to weather, kayaks are no longer stored at the end of the dock as seen in many of the photos.
-Enjoy Union! You are minutes from Alderbrook Resort & Spa (SUPs, chartered cruises and beautiful hiking trails), Robin Hood Restaurant & Pub (with its live music venue), Alderbrook Golf Club, Union Square Deli, Dos Margaritas, Union City Market, Dalby Water Wheel and much more.
There is a beach closet attached to the Dockside (closest to the parking lot) that stores kayak paddles, life vests, sunscreen, broom and other useful beach items for your stay. The key that opens the slider door is the same key used to lock and unlock the beach closet. Please use the double kayak at the end of the dock! There are waiver forms that must be signed located in the beach closet. Just fill it out and the Manager will pick it up after check out.
Please use extra caution when departing from Dockside. It is recommended to turn right (with traffic heading Westbound on SR 106). You may have to find a safer spot to turn around in order to head East on SR 106 (towards Alderbrook Resort/Belfair).
