You will come for the view, and the bonus is the comfort of the home. Every detail is anticipated - kitchen items, blankets, towels, outdoor games, fire pit, hot tub, etc. Our family of five plus 2 dogs felt super comfortable here. The spacious backyard was pet friendly, and we hung out there more than we expected. The location cannot be beat, too! The road was not noisy and the ocean/people/dog watching was amazing. Cannot recommend enough.

Our family of 13 spent a week in Santa Cruz. We couldn’t have picked a better place to stay! My grandchildren enjoyed biking, rollerblading and skateboarding on the walking trail. The adults were obsessed with whale watching (we saw several) from the front patio! The back yard was private, safe and spacious. Centrally located to enjoy everything that the area offers (aquarium, train ride, wineries). Thanks for the memories, Gia!

We loved watching sunrise and sunset in front of fire out front while kids rode bikes and scooters. The backyard activities had something for everyone. The house lends itself to different spaces for quiet or more active activities. We walked and biked everywhere! Boardwalk, beac, etc...

8 adults and one little dog enjoyed a 4 night stay at this home. There was plenty of space to accommodate everyone, plus a large back yard with seating, boce, corn hole and hot tub. The front has a terrific seating area where you can look out on the Pacific ocean and people watch. The owners even provide binoculars for whale watching. The owners were very responsive with any communications that we had, and were generous with offering us late check out (unasked for, but welcomed) as the cleaning crew was not coming until the following day. Our group was able to explore Santa Cruz and enjoy walks along the coast from the property. The owners also provided a welcome basket which was appreciated. I would return to this property again if the opportunity arose.

The house was clean, very well equipped, with plenty of space and lots of entertainment for all family members, including the hot tub and outdoor shower. Beautiful ocean views, friendly people and dogs going by, quick walk to beaches or grocery. We especially appreciated the kitchen, with all the equipment and appliances needed to make meals easy for the whole family. Sitting and watching the pelicans fly by might have been our favorite part. We made wonderful memories here!

Our stay was a Christmas present for our kids (2 adult kids, with spouses and grandchildren, plus ourselves). The home easily fit all of us with space to spare. The house is decorated beach/Zen themed with beautiful live plants too. While the front yard looks cozy, we didn't use it at all because it was pretty windy and much colder in the front yard, but the backyard was awesome--10 degrees warmer and no wind and so spacious with lounging spots and toys! We learned to play bocce ball, which was so much fun! The spa was nice and BBQ worked perfectly. The kitchen had everything we needed for each family's prepared dinner night. While the construction and fence across the Pacific Ocean view was disappointing at first, it actually was nice because there were no cars in front of the house and the traffic was minimal. The house is an easy walk to the Surfer's museum. We drove to the Boardwalk area, but I suppose you could walk (without children). We loved the Surfers Paradise!

I can’t say enough about how amazing this experience was for our entire family. 12 of us stayed here for five nights to celebrate our daughter’s graduation from UC Santa Cruz. Family came in from Indiana and we wanted a space that made everyone feel comfortable but was close to The ocean. Santa Cruz offers so many fun activities for all ages, but having a space to come home to that was equally as fun was really important to us, and we found it at this space. We ranged in age from 20 months to 90 years old and every member of the family found something they especially loved about this Space. Hearing the roar of the ocean at night, seeing the moon reflection on the water, watching the surfers during the morning, taking scenic walks along the ocean or just playing at the many activities the backyard had to offer, truly gave us all we needed. Can’t wait to go back!

Our group of women thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this lovely property. The house was clean, linens were lush and it was well stocked. Unfortunately, it rained most of the weekend so we did not get a chance to enjoy the backyard games, but the inside was spacious enough to accommodate a rainy afternoon.

I have nothing but great things to say about this wonderful home and Gia as a host. I booked the place for a weekend reunion for my friends, and it was perfect. The location on West Cliff Avenue is stunning, with panoramic ocean views from the front porch. The house is also only 10 minutes from Steamer Lane, a world class surfing break and park. The house still felt private due to tinted windows and was well stocked and had a modern, updated kitchen perfect for cooking for a large group. The house also had an amazing, spacious backyard with tons of activities. Ping pong, bocce ball, cornhole, and a hot tub. We also went to the beach and made use of the beach wagon, chairs, and ~20 surfboards available, including at least 3 foam boards perfect for beginners. Needless to say we had no shortage of things to do. The house also had a 3 person sauna in the garage which was great for winding down after a day of fun in the sun. Finally, Gia and her team were super responsive and kind. She guided us seamlessly through check in and check out. She even helped us coordinate pickup of a few things left behind at the place a week after check out. Gia really went the extra mile! I recommend this place without reservation, it is the best rental house I've ever stayed at.

This was the perfect property for our family holiday week. We had a jolly house full with 6 adults, 5 kids ages 3-9, and 2 dogs from 3 states! Clean, cozy, comfortable, convenient! Complete with Christmas tree! Spacious back yard for kids to run around, play with the dogs, let off steam. Cozy gas fire pit in front for more sedate relaxation. Nearby beaches, boardwalk and aquariums, so lots to do. Property manager was very responsive and obliging and really helped to make the week a holiday to remember.

Well stocked home and a fabulous property manager made this an easy and memorable weekend to celebrate a 60th birthday with our loved ones. Great house in an amazing location! Perfect for an extended family gathering - 4 generations. Well stocked with those kitchen items you always forget / need and lots of beach gear. Fill the wagon and walk to the dog beach. Definitely will come back to setup base camp to further explore the coast.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this wonderful house on West Cliff. Gia, the owner was communicative and informative and the check in process was easy. The home itself was just lovely. Clean, very comfortable beds with great linens, big fluffy towels, and was stocked with everything to make the visit special. The back yard was very large and was filled with many areas to entertain and have fun with. The Grand Kids loved it. A patio out front was our place for coffee in a morning and a glass of wine in the evening. Watching the whales, dolphins, birds and people walking by. We very much enjoyed our stay here and will definitely be returning.

You can't beat the location! Besides the fact that you are a short walk to all of the attractions, the house itself is perfect for a large group. We enjoyed people watching by the fire in the front yard and playing games and relaxing in the back yard. The home itself is even more spacious than we expected and it slept our group of 11 comfortably. Gia and Krista were great hosts and very communicative. We would absolutely stay there again!

This is our 40th wedding anniversary year and our family came to celebrate at this property in Santa Cruz. We had between 7 and 9 people with between 3-5 dogs. The house was immaculate and beautifully decorated. We were all impressed by the 8 foot monstera above the refrigerator. The house is designed for entertaining and there was a microwave, 2 ovens, a stove top, a pannini maker, Vitamix blender, air fryer oven and 2 refrigerator/freezers. The back yard had bocci balls, sauna, pingpong table, cornthrow and many chairs. The dogs loved roaming around the large yard. We especially enjoyed the large windows overlooking the ocean where the kelp bed had a family of at least 6 otters. We enjoyed eating on the porch and sitting with the fire bowl in the front year. The owner was very responsive and answered our many texts. The access to the beach was 5 minutes in either direction. We loved our stay and hope to visit again.

Location is perfect. We had a fabulous extended stay with family. Couple of minor suggestions - would be nice to have shampoo, conditioner, and coffee included as it required an extra grocery store run. No beach towels provided which was an inconvenience without laundry on site. Pet hair on upholstery could bother some. Hosts were responsive and easy to communicate with. We would stay again!

Our family was excited for our stay-cation. The house was perfectly located and close to our favorite beaches (we are a family of local surfers) and amenities, nicely decorated and with an amazing backyard. Unfortunately, we encountered several issues with the house. I have used VRBO for 25-years and have never submitted a negative review. The first evening of our stay, a family member fell off of the slippery back deck badly injuring his knee and breaking his toe. There was blood everywhere with no first aid kit to be found and we spent half of the next day in urgent care. The deck has no step lighting or deck grip which is dangerous for foggy/wet ocean conditions. Additionally, the bottom deck step is not built at the same height as the other steps and ultimately resulted in the fall, aggravated by the lack of lighting and slippery surface. In the house, there is a small 2" step that leads from one of the connecting bedrooms to the master bedroom. A trip hazard which resulted in my 80 year old father falling. The master bedroom does not have a bathroom but rather a shared bathroom located in the connecting room. This was not advertised on the listing. One cannot enter from the room to the main house without walking through the master. I do realize accidents happen (there were two more falls I did not mention). The worse offense, is that after reaching out to the owner via text and email, no effort was made to respond nor amend the situation. Total lack of empathy.

This was our fourth year in the West Cliff area but the first time at this property. We were worried about the destruction to the beach and road this last winter and the orange road barriers in front of the proposer Ty were a distraction but not as bad as I feared. The road is only one way in front of the property which was fine and actually cut down on traffic compared to prior years. We had six adults and four children 7 and under (including a 10 month old) and the house worked well for this group. The fire pit in the front is a great place for cocktails, after dinner conversations and people watching and the backyard is terrific for kids. The jacuzzi and outdoor shower are wonderful features. The small bedroom with a triple decker bunk bed was a big hit with the 7 and 5 year old grandkids. The kitchen has a good layout and works well. We had some bad luck with the dishwasher and clothes washer both going out while we were there, but the owner was very responsive, replacing the dishwasher in less than 24 hours and collecting our laundry and having it done offsite while the clothes washer was out of commission. The owner and local property manager were both extremely responsive to our questions and issues. We had a great time and look forward to returning next year and for many years to come.

We recently stayed here for our daughter’s UC Santa Cruz graduation, and it was fantastic place to house our whole extended family. Since we hosted both sets of grandparents, an aunt, and ourselves, we needed a home that could accommodate all of us, and we were quite comfortable here. The views are outstanding, and we all enjoyed walking along West Cliff drive every day. The backyard is huge, and we made use of the bocce ball, corn hole, ping pong table, jacuzzi, and fire pit!! The interior is beautifully decorated, yet casual and comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!!

We stayed here for a family holiday vacation during Christmas, and the place was wonderful. The ocean is just across the street, the Boardwalk is a nice walk away. The house is big enough for a large extended family, if everyone coordinates the two bathrooms in advance.
