Harkia Villas

The villa was immaculate. The kitchen had everything you would need. The hosts left fruit and milk, a delicious meal on our arrival, and olive oil and wine were also left in the week. The beds were very comfortable. The sheets and towels (pool towels too) were changed mid week, and more clean bedding was provided if we needed it. The owners were available if needed and responded quickly to any questions. We had a query about the air con, which was answered straight away. The problem was with us, not the air con!! The property was light and airy and larger than the photos suggested. There is plenty of shade if you need it and a lovely covered terrace. Pool is great. There is a lovely breeze up in the hills, so we did not need the air con during the day. Views are amazing. Watch the swifts, and resident hawks fly in the valley and just switch off. Beautifully quiet. Lidl in the town nearby (15 minute drive).

The location is unmatchable. The amenities were as expected. The hosts was very welcoming. Upon arrival, a bottle of local wine, some fruits (from the garden) and a plate full of cheese and vegetables was waiting for us.

Two villas right in the mountains with a fantastic view all the way to the see and private pools. We stayed in the lower villa. You get to both villas from the same entrance but they are completely seperated and private. They are family owned and the owners are very kind! Our villa was clean and also got cleaned again (new towels, linen etc.) three nights into the stay. The road to the villa is a bit adventurous like some roads around that area. The villas are completetly isolated in the mountains with a very small village close. Perfect for very relaxing and quiet holidays with only goats near by. Next supermarkted is roughly 15min away. Rethymno is roughly 20min away. Loved our stay here and can highly recommend it if you want to relax and you have a rental car to explore the area and the rest of crete. Perfect for a couple or two couples.
