HOTEL PIORNEDO

Location was superb - stunningly beautiful surroundings amplified by the massive picture window in the residents’ lounge. The swimming pool was a welcome addition at the end of a long day travelling or walking in the area. A family run hotel - the care and attention to their guests was clearly evident in every aspect of our stay - loved every minute. Staff were all amazing and so helpful.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

La ubicación en la preciosa e histórica aldea de Piornedo, punto de partida de nuestro objetivo, el pico Mustallar; La decoración tradicional del hotel con la espectacular vista panorámica desde el salón; La historia del origen del hotel y conocer a la familia que hizo de su sueño una realidad; La rica comida de productos de cercania ( incluso de su huerto). Y por supuesto la tremenda simpatía y amabilidad de Mireia, que te da mil facilidades para disfrutar de tu estancia y te hace sentir parte del hotel. Muchas gracias por hacer de nuestra visita una experiencia inolvidable.

Very nice hotel in Piornedo run by Mireille and her parents. An austere exterior hides a welcoming and comfortable interior with wonderful views. The food was excellent with a menu of Gallician dishes. The rooms simple but well kitted out.

The property itself has no drawbacks and Piornedes and its museum are worth a visit. Hotel Piornedes gives access to multiple hiking routes and daytrips throughout Os Ancares and into Leon and is worth staying 3-4 days. A great pity was that the environmental department overlooking the biosphere reserve recently “upgraded” the road towards Mustallar peak thus destroying about one third of the hiking route and scarring the landscape for many years to come.
