Appartments in Tignes Ecrin des Neiges

The location was super, just above bus stops in either direction. On a few mins from the nearest Intersport and the town. We preferred the location to being in Tignes le Lac (which we have done twice previously). There were 6 of us in one apartment (B232) and 3 in another (A323). We had two car spaces. The place was certainly big enough for the 9 of us to eat together and relax. Views were directly over the car park from one bedroom and the lounge/kitchen area. The Boulangerie was superb. We booked for La Ferme before we arrived and had a super meal. We also went to La Caveaju for one meal and La Bodega down in La Lavachet (we got the bus there and walked back). Be aware the 3 rooms in the roof only have sky lights and under the snow you can't open them so there is no air flow. We were given a stick to be able to open the blackout blind in each room after asking for one.

Where to start - like many places and representative of the cost, the apartment is tired. Hope the rest of the info prevents your blood pressure rising! Don't bother to give your credit card details for a security deposit or provide everyone's passport details, not matter how many times you recieve the message in 5 languages. We were a group in different locations and I just couldn't do it and no-one asked. Firstly, the taxes; the larger apartment (B232) had been registered so only cost us 46.20€ but the much smaller 2 room apartment (A232) hadn't and cost us 113.19€. We only knew when the bills were posted under the door the night before. The host only takes cash or a 'check'. Secondly, the check-in was ridiculous - refused send us a location pin (presume don't know how to, which is so unusual) but asked us to call their french mobile, message when leaving an area (fair enough) and then she stood on the roundabout in the dark to guide us. Made it all fractious, especially after a 4.5hr drive from Chambery, we were two cars in convoy and it was after 8pm. The garage door is simply immediately right after you have turned left on the roundabout, under the building on the corner. Simples. Thirdly, and this was so petty it annoyed us all. We were given 4 dishwasher tablets, one recycling bin bag and one waste bin bag. The second apartment didn't have any dishwasher tablets. So we asked for 4 more dishwasher tablets and a couple of bin bags and were told no. It is a long time since we experienced that attitude. I have no truck if we use the last ones left by previous people and replenish the stock, that is a given. So we bought what we needed and took it all home. We would never stay again. Shame. Lastly, the place was clean but they don't move the furniture so we found all sorts of things under bedside tables and couches and the dust!! The big table needs a re-varnish very difficult to play cards on :-)

Roomy and close to the slopes and shops

Cecile was in regular contact and available to let us in as soon as we arrived. She showed me around the apartments with helpful information. The location of the apartments is good with easy access to the restaurants, shops and slopes of Val Claret plus good access to Le Lac via the free shuttle. The boot and ski room was very useful. We were provided with hand soap and dish washing kit.

Apartment was smaller than we were led to believe on booking (we were told it was three bedroom but then told that it was a mistake and only had two rooms and a sofa bed) and it was really quite cramped for 6 people. Certainly i wouldn’t have more than two adults in the apartment. Facilities were quite basic with no proper oven and no washing machine in the apartment (there is a communal one for the apartments), for example. The sofa bed was old and dated and the mattress protector was dirty. The towels were very small. At the end of our stay we were left with a set of instructions for cleaning the apartment even though we paid large cleaning fee. The hosts also demanded a significant tourist tax on our last day to be paid in cash with no warning and not referenced in the booking confirmation. They have now scammed me out of €180 claiming for things on a damage deposit that are not true. Do not trust this person!

Well kept, clean, comfortable, plenty of space & storage, the kitchen was well equipped & modern (including a fair sized freezer & a Nespresso machine) and our host Celine was friendly & accommodating. Location wise the property was only 5 minutes walk from everything including the main ski school meeting area, bars, restaurants, shops etc. We pre booked parking in Golf carpark (again only a 5 minute walk), there is a small loading area at the front of the property where we were able to unload/reload the car quite easily.

Nothing really! Overall we really enjoyed staying here & would happily recommend.

Great layout for 2 families of 4, plenty of room and bathrooms etc. very clean. Perfect location, free bus right outside. Great to have a parking spot included and boot room/lift.

The location is amazing and great access to the bus to La Lac and walking distance to Bollin. The ski room is great as you store your stuff down there. There are many plus sides to staying there and it warm and cosey. The bathroom is clean and works well. I would definitely stay there again as it is a fab place. The skiing in Tignes is just amazing with the shared access to Val D'Isere. The apartment is warm and quiet in the main. The flat is fairly well equipped.

Property dated and tired. Central area is not well maintained with lights on stairs not working and some door locks not locking, The TV system was broken. There is no reception area now there and the keys are to be handed over. It was tricky to locate them. The plates, bowls and cups were dirty and we had to wash them all on arrival. It is galling when there is 225 Euro charge for cleaning to be told that that was down to the previous guests. Also there was horror from the hostess at the hob being dirty from boiling pasta One of the bunk beds consistently broke and needed to repaired by me. It is quite a tight fit for a family of 4. It is pitched as sleeping 6 but if there were people on the sofa bed I cannot see how it works. There is limited storage space for 4. Despite asking for parking I was never given any and had to arrange my own parking arrangements. I tried to cancel 8 hours after payment and a refund was refused as is their right but it was 2 months before the stay.

Nice, very well equipped and maintained comfortable apartment with two separate bedrooms. Fast WIFI and effective heating. 3 min walk to Val Claret centre. 5 min walk to next ski lift. Good value for money for a premium ski area like Espace Killy.

Overnight heating in the ski storage room could be improved.

Our host was prompt to meet us on arrival and she was very helpful giving clear instructions. She left a few essentials (washing-up liquid and toilet roll) and some tasty homemade jam. The property was clean and warm.

The property is a bit of a walk from the ESF main meeting point for ski school. The ski locker room can get rather busy at times.
