VILLA LAREDO ***

Clean and modern facilities.

Impersonal and unnecessarily complicated registration. Too far away from the official Camino. The vending machine only took coins, not credit cards or electronic payment. No facilities to wash or hang clothes. No real option to buy wine or food. The place is far removed from stores, supermarkets or restaurants. A car is needed. Nothing to do upon arrival.

Great customer service, breakfast was included and a good selection especially needed since the location is remote. Beautiful pension with private rooms and private bath. More like a small boutique hotel.

All is wonderful. Loved the peacefulness.

The only thing is that it is far from the Camino in a very steeped road. We grabbed a cab as my foot couldn’t take another step. The AC and smoking or some other device produce a lot of light. Bring something to cover your eyes.

The property is located an easy 2 km (25 minute walk) down the road from armentiera. But it is in a rural area, so had a late lunch in armentiera, order a take out meal for the evening, and then walked the 2 kms down the road (all downhill). The breakfast room had a vending machine with cold drinks, snacks, sandwiches, etc. Although there is no attendant on site, the place seems to run itself. A lively courtyard with tables, beautiful rooms, and a view that goes all the way down to the ocean. The morning, we found lovely path the connected to the camino, so we didn’t have to walk the 2 kms back. A delightful, restful stay.
