For rent in the center of characteristic Rio Marina lovely apartment overlooking the small square in front of the waterfront; modern style, furnished with care and taste, a few steps from the sea and stores. It comfortably accommodates up to 4 people with 2 bedrooms
The three-room apartment La Barchetta is an ideal destination for those who dream of a relaxing vacation, without the use of a car with all services nearby : ferry arrival and departure, town center, stores, promenade, restaurants, supermarket etc..
The apartment is located on the 2. floor of historic building (only 2 flights of stairs) with entrance from a typical small square (Garibaldi); you enter in the hallway where you face the small bedroom with bunk beds and access to the balcony, the bathroom with shower stall (without window), the large living room furnished with dining table and access to the balcony where you can have lunch; the kitchenette is separate and equipped with : refrigerator with freezer, stove gas oven, washing machine, bialetti coffee machine); the large double bedroom overlooks the living room with a comfortable wardrobe and a view of the small square. The terrace is equipped for dining, facing south and equipped with deck chairs and umbrella; public parking nearby, pets allowed on request.
Rio Marina is a pretty town with a history linked to mineral extraction and fishing and tourism activities, where you can still breathe the typical atmosphere of the villages inhabited by the "people of the sea," with the small stores, sweets and typical dishes, and restaurants where you can taste the catch of the day cooked with extreme care and with sometimes very old recipes. Possibility of water activities such as boat rental, diving center with PADI patent issue and sailing school.
The small beach of Il Porticciolo is gravel and is located in the center of town, while nearby there is the beautiful bay of Ortano, the beach of Le Fornacelle, i Topinetti, Cala Seregola, the Coves of La Torre, Gennaro, Luisi d'Angelo to finish with Cavo until you reach Porto Azzurro and Capoliveri.
The town is also home to numerous cultural and sporting events throughout the year, including festivals and fairs. Typical local dishes include baccala cooked with the recipe for the typical "Stoccafisso" as well as "Sbrurrita," "Schiaccia Briaca," and the traditional "Sportella di Pasqua."
Rio Marina is also an ideal base for exploring the island of Elba, as it offers a strategic location almost in the center of the island in addition to the convenience of being able to disembark directly with the Toremar ferry.
