New River Cottage
Come experience relaxing in this completely restored 1902 mill house. This vacation home is located in the charming historic town of Fries, VA. The large front porch overlooks the New River and the New River Trail State Park which is the perfect setting for your morning coffee or evening wine.
Inside you will find the large comfortable living room with numerous seating options and a 55” Smart TV.
The well-stocked kitchen includes a gas range, dishwasher, refrigerator, countertop icemaker, drip coffee maker, and Keurig. The dining area located in the kitchen has sitting at the dining table or counter top bar.
Primary bedroom with King size bed includes a seating area with an attached full bathroom. Second bedroom has two twin beds and is adjacent to the second full bathroom. The second full bathroom has an additional private dressing area and washer and dryer.
Sunroom includes a daybed, 34” Smart TV, and a dedicated desk with a gorgeous river view. It’s a great room to snuggle up with a good book, play a board game, or assemble a puzzle.
Looking to stay active?
The New River Trail State Park is within easy walking distance to hike, run, or ride bikes while following the New River for miles. Also, within walking distance is a river access for fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and river tubing. Bring your own or rent from New River Outdoor Adventures.
There is a secure secure storage area for your bike, canoe or kayak and also an electrical outlet to charge your E-bike.

To start with the view from the front porch of the river is breathtaking. You can see the New River Trail from the front porch. Our visit was to ride the trail and ride the trail we did. The house is very clean and very well appointed. The beds are comfy. The host is very quick to respond to questions. We met a neighbor and he told us about the Dam Jam and cake walk on Thursday night. It was so much fun. Every person in Fries we met was genuinely kind. You will love Fries and the property. It’s amazing. I hope to go back soon!

We stayed at this house to run the New River Trail Races. Could not have been in a better location for that! The house was beautiful and well appointed. We cooked in and had everything we needed. Very well stocked. Just an adorable place in an idyllic setting.
