Christmas in Gloucester

Tons of room, very comfortable beds, very useable kitchen, period house, walkable to town. Overall a very good experience. We normally prefer a country setting but this made a great change and gave us the choice of loads of pubs/restaurants and shops over Christmas.

We were very happy here but the house is on three floors for those less mobile. The onsite parking for two cars was very welcome but at night especially needed care and concentration. Wide or long vehicles might have problems manoeuvering.

Lovely stay, great communication from the owner and we would stay again if in the area.

The property had everything we needed and the welcome basket, tea, coffee, sugar and basic cleaning products were really helpful. Beds were comfy and the games room was a hit, plenty of utensils, plates etc: lovely decorated home and care taken with the decor and accessories, we would stay again if in the area.

I don’t think not like is the right expression it’s just something you need to be aware. There is parking for 2 cars however getting on and off the drive is very tight and there is a step that cuts into the drive. When reversing it was a bit difficult to gauge with a bigger car, I was worried I would go off the edge. The steps could have benefitted from a handrail as my elderly mother in law struggled to get down them without help as one of the steps is quite deep. The handrail may also assist when reversing onto or off the drive. Don’t let this put you off as the house is lovely.

The property was very spacious and ideal for a family. With all the facilities it was great for a comfortable stay. The contact was very helpful and responsive too with excellent customer service.

The available parking is tricky as it is a shared annex with limited space so it means one car has to park in front of the other. Access entrance is also through the back where the parking is and may not be ideal if you have a lot of luggage or expecting deliveries. Some parts of the property were a bit dated but manageable.

The high spec finish was great, and the location, being so close to the Gloucester rugby stadium, was awesome
