Easy to get a hold of staff. We forgot our coffee but they had it already there which was a great surprise. Gotta have the coffee in the morning. They had extra heaters and enough stuff such as blanket pillows and all that to keep you comfortable. Didn’t get to use the golf cart but that’s a great extra.
Only thing I would say that I didn’t like was no TV in bedroom. Not a big deal for most people but I fall asleep to watching something. So that is my only thing I would change but I had my tablet so no biggie.

The location, just a bit off Highway 12 between Michigan City and New Buffalo, was very convenient both to the beach (a pleasant ca. 20 min. walk or 10 min. rider on the "loaner" bikes) and to the area's dunes and marshes for daily hikes and the shops we needed for groceries, etc. We found the area very restful (off touristy tracks) and quiet, notwithstanding the occasional Amtrak and freight trains that pass on the (almost unseen) tracks that parallel Highway 12 (which trains added their own soothing rhythm, so much better than the car traffic noise that we experience at home in Chicago). The house is nicely furnished and comfortable, with an especially well-equipped kitchen, and the washer-dryer a major convenience. The house has ample a.c. (that was nicely cooling the house on the hot September day we arrived) and a couple of standing fans; but also, we were glad to see when it grew chilly the next day, there are some portable heaters to warm up corners (like the primary bedroom), without having to turn on the whole heating system (which would have been "overkill"). We anticipate returning for a wintertime stay and expect--in part thanks to the many throw pillows, lap blankets, and comforters in the living as well as bedrooms, to find the place as cozy as in early fall. Another valued plus: the host was easy to reach and very attentive to requests. We enjoyed eating both on the dining room table overlooking the back deck and on the deck itself: so nice to have options, depending on the weather, and plenty of space. (We also really appreciated the small desk under the dining room area window--and the strong Wifi signal). One evening we gathered with friends in the Adirondack chairs around the firepit --using the bundle of wood thoughtfully left on the enclosed front porch for us. Another dusk and the next morning, a small herd of deer came to graze in the backyard near the (extinguished) firepit.
The beds were a little soft for our liking, though they are comfortable enough--and there are lovely blankets and duvets for chilly nights. We found we needed to move some lamps and small tables around to suit our needs (like to have a place to put toiletries in the bathroom), but there a was no sense that moving anything was discouraged (as we have experienced in some vacation apartments and houses). We felt we could make the place "our own" for the duration, and were encouraged to report anything we found slightly awry.

Beautiful area and close to New Buffalo and Michigan City. Sitting on the back porch and relaxing. Golf cart rides to the beach. Prompt responses from the host. Truly a wonderful little place for a great price. We will return.
Pulling out on to the main road was a little tricky due to bushes blocking your view.
