Spacious and clean love the huge sliding doors in all the rooms views amazing

The property has fantastic views. Its location allows you to see sunsets right from the large windows. The swimming pool provided great relaxation after a day of exploring the island. We arrived late at night, and the fridge had some basic supplies for the following morning’s breakfast, which was a nice touch.

This is not a negative just a tip. You definitely need a car to travel back and forth. The property is located at the top of a steep hill.

The property is in a nice location with some great views. The rooms are very spacious and we found the use of the en suite, family bathroom and toilet very useful as it felt everyone had their own space. Beds were comfy and the pillows were great which I often don't find. Check in and check out was very straight forward. Pool was clean and having a utility space with a litte one and beach days is always useful. The hosts were communicative when we had issues. The villa is decorated nicely with a tasteful modern feel. We liked the villa was on one level because we found this easier in terms of safety of our little one also.

Unfortunately, we had a few issues with the property. When we did the morning greeting we were told a time someone would be there and they were an hour late almost making us late for our daytime plans and meaning we had to wait around and no one had let us know they were running late. The blind wasn't working initially and then fell from the ceiling - we were grateful that our three year old wasn't in the room when that happened and that no one else was as it could have seriously injured someone due to the weight. Knowing that we had to leave it down for the rest of the time still made me anxious that it could fall again. This was clearly a known issue that hadn't been fixed previously. Another day the water completely stopped working which again is not ideal with three adults and a child in the home - this was sorted in the same day but still was disappointed with this as you expect running water especially for the price of the villa - just seems basic. The weather in Madeira is very variable especially in this location and a heated pool would have been much better on reflection - we acknowledge this was our fault but when going back I would say a heated pool is necessary even in the summer - especially with children. There is no air con in the property and only two fans which again was less than ideal with the warm nights. We looked around the property and found lots of heaters but not an extra fan. Many of us experienced bites so I would urge people to think about bringing bug repellent of some kind as the only way of airflow (and with the lack of fans you need it) is to open the massive doors. We did also find some leftover bread in the top shelf of the kitchen when we arrived which made me question how thoroughly it had been cleaned. The parking at the property is on a steep hill so also worth bearing this in mind if you aren't overly confident with this but luckily our party were fairly confident with this.
