VANG VIENG TOPVIEW HOTEL

The view is great and the people are top class. Very eager to help but also willing to go above that. I was having a bit of a nightmare crashing my bike and then also catching food poisoning. One of the guys drove me to the hospital and also gave me tips on where to get treated. Helped me book extra nights for recovery. I can’t speak any higher of the guys there 👍

Some shower drainage issues

Really good location and it was nice to have the pool! Even though it was small and not much space it hardly was ever busy.

The sheets and towels could do with an upgrade, there were lots of stains on all of them. The shower also doesn’t drain well, we pulled out the plug and there was lots of hair stuck in there. The cleaners can be quite loud in the morning to.

Loved how central it was and quiet in the evening. LOVED how spacious the rooms were, views are also pretty at sunset even if you are on the lower floor 🫶🏽

I can’t really say much bad about it

Great location - just far enough away from the main bar area to be very peaceful at night, but still within easy walking distance of everything (Vang Vieng is a very small town anyway). Rooms are quite big, and comfortable; most, I think, have balconies: nice views over the town centre, and of the limestone mountains in the middle distance. Very comfortable bed.

No wardrobe - only a weird coat-rail, which is right inside the door, and projects a long way out of the wall, so it's a bit of an eye-poking hazard when you enter the room. The drainage in the shower rooms is very poor: the drain-hole in the shower area seems to be too high, so the water instead pours out into the main bathroom area, eventually finding a second drain under the washbasin, but leaving the entire floor soaking wet and dangerously slippery. The free breakfast is very basic, and really best skipped. It was very difficult to communicate with them ahead of the visit; and I almost cancelled my stay because they were being oddly unhelpful about telling me how I could arrange onward transport to Vientiane. (In fact, it's very simple, and they were able to help me buy a bus ticket as soon as I arrived. But before I arrived, they kept telling me they didn't know how I could get to the capital.) The decor is a bit weird: it gives the vibe of a lower mid-level 2000s Chinese business hotel. One of the nicer places to stay in Vang Vieng, but maybe a little overpriced in such a cheap market.
