Location was only good thing
Bed hard as a rock. Carpet had bugs never vacuumed. Blood on carpet near bathroom. Staff treated me rudely. Don’t recommend

Walking distance to plaza but not much there unlike other plazas in Mexico. Large king size room. Hot water in shower. Quiet. Two overhead fans in room. Staff would call taxi for us but otherwise unhelpful.
Wifi didn’t work, except in lobby and even that was inconsistent. Cell /data often didn’t work either. Staff was no help. Small breakfast area but poor food. Recommend walking up to plaza and eating in one of the nearby restaurants. Small snack selection at desk but offerings that needed to be cooked (popcorn, ramen) had no facility to do so.

I need an inexpensive place with running warm water, beds, ac and a place to recharge devices. This is just that minus the ability to charge devices. There were only two outlets.
Window was wide opened when we walked into our room. I don’t know for how long it was like that but could be the reason why the bed linens weren’t clean. Also you will have to haul up your luggage one flight of stairs because the elevator can’t take you all the way to parking level. If you are fit and only a couple of bags, no problem but if you have some elderly, disabled or babies, it via an inconvenience. Also we were told WiFi info was on a tag behind the remote but it was barely legible and it didn’t match any of the available networks.

Absolutely nothing
The rooms are dirty and old. They need a major renovation. They charge for every single thing even for a cup of ice.

The room was really big and we had jacuzzi. The bathroom was pretty big and really liked the smell of toiletries. Most of the staff was very friendly and super nice. They gave us a small bottle of water per each person. In general was pretty clean. The bed was really big and comfortable and we had two big windows facing each towards something like internal courtyard. In the room there was ceiling fan and AC. We loved the interior at the reception - vintage furniture, they had also pretty big library and some ceramics.
The sofa was not comfortable and some of the furniture in the room/bath needs renewing. Not sure why we had like a wardrobe/ place to put your clothes in the bathroom - if it gets super wet and humid that would affect them.

I like the place, for sure the last decade was a top hotel, the car parking was available and the location is pretty close from town center.
the hotel is cheap but needs maintenance, the furniture has dust and cobweb, the carpet feels dirty, In general I don't felt comfortable to be a place for my family

WiFi in the room, once I figured out it was totally different from the one shown at the reception desk. Pretty quiet outdoor surroundings (interior not quiet). Good location, of course.
My room was utterly dilapidated. Giant cracks in the bathroom mirror; soot-like stains covering much of the bathroom ceiling; terribly caulked tub/shower with part of the shower handpiece holster missing; especially flakey tankless water heater; literally transparent bathroom "curtain;" a single nail propping up a board hiding the circuit breakers; partially crushed and askew lampshades; no tissues and barely half a roll of toilet paper...the list goes on. (And the bed was hard and the pillows quite lumpy, but as bed preferences are subjective, I can live with that.) I have pictures of all the damage. It looked like rock stars trashed it and the staff tried to repair some of it in three hours.
The reception staff (those I met) were rude and unhelpful, whether I was doing my best to speak Spanish, used Google to help, or mixed in some English. One example: all my other lodgings across Mexico provided a way to refill my reusable water bottle, and also had water bottles in the room. Neither was the case for Clara Luna. When I asked the front desk (in Spanish) where I could fill my water bottle, they were disbelieving and silent. After trying again with Google Translate and still not getting an answer, I asked if I had to buy water instead. They said yes, and then, to my understanding, proceeded to giggle and mock me as I walked away.
The bottom line is, I'm sympathetic to the toll that COVID took on hotels, and Clara Luna charges a bit less than other hotels in the area. With that said, it was one of the most poorly maintained properties I've ever stayed at--like the Grizabella of hotels, beautiful in its heyday and now falling apart.

Bright, cheery, air conditioned. We have stayed there twice now.
Slightly earlier check in would be nice. Not a major problem, though.

Generally good, nice staff, clean room, good location.
room is a little dark.

The facade and rustic interiors
Dusty room and bathroom (toilet) dirty. The used sheets, with hair and wrinkled. I would definitely no return to Hotel Clara Luna.
