The hotel is in Luz not Lagos itself, but only 11 ms’ drive to Lagos where you board boat for grottos tour. It has 2 swimming pools and lounge chairs in the shade, as well as a bar right next to the pools. The beach is a 3 m walk and there is a great choice of cafes and restaurants nearby and on the promenade. I found a great Thai massage place right next to the restaurants and it was great.
The hotel does look a bit tired but you get what you pay for, and it’s not bad considering. They offer breakfast between 8 and 9.30 and I would say it’s geared towards the many British tourists we encountered. Eggs, sausage, etc. Personally, I missed a choice of fresh fruit because I don’t enjoy eggs or sausage at all. The mattresses and pillows we had were not the best. The hotel should invest on replacing the mattresses and pillows. The room was perfectly adequate and spacious with a real fridge which helped to cool water bottles and keep medication in.
Location, pools and beach made it worthwhile.

Sooo cozy apartment, clean, silent, very comfortable apartment, one of my best during the Fishermens trail hiking. AC/warm blankets. Surrounding is really nice, nice looking plant, good location and very nice staff, two younf gentlemen offered me help anytime I needed something (mug, plate). I definitely recommend. Nice memories. Even if it was raining. I visited during december.

Apart from the great staff and the swimming pool, the hotel is very disappointing. Curtains falling off, everything very old, no double beds, only two sing beds made separate and put together. Definitely needs some retrofitting.
Breakfast had everyday the exact same food, not good variety and nothing from the Portuguese cuisine. Very cheap quality of everything served.
The staff very friendly and great though.
