The apartment was very clean and very comfortable. The outside space was generally pleasant. The location in the centre of town was especially important to us as we were visiting my daughter who lives there. It is also close to shops, restaurants and bars and several beaches can be easily accessed.

Communication from the host was poor. The listing said the host would make contact on the day of arrival with instructions for accessing the property, but no message was received by me before I began my flight nor by the time I landed despite an enquiry about it from me that morning. Eventually I had to call the host from the taxi from the airport and was told that someone would meet us. Until we arrived at the apartment I was anxious that this might not happen. In fact we were met on arrival and the process was very easy. I believe we were met by the host's family who live at the property so why not say this on the listing? Having to chase-up the access information myself at the last minute was very unsatisfactory and unsettling. My son and I were visiting my daughter and assisting her with jobs in her new apartment, so we spent most of our time there. One day, we invited her to visit our apartment after lunch nearby, but almost immediately I received the following message from the host "We see that another person came to the apartment. We have a rule that we don't let other people (out of the ones in the booking) enter the villa. If you want this person to stay with you, it is €50 per day/night." I found this message confrontational and, if this is a rule of the owner, why is it not among the 'House Rules' on the listing and in the booklet in the apartment. My son is general manager of a pub in London with a boutique B&B and is used to communicating with their guests, and he was shocked and offended by the message I received. The host's name did not appear on the listing, was not used in replying to a pre-visit enquiry and so was not known to me until I received the complaint. Just outside the apartment is the local recycling facility and several times the recycling vehicle came whilst we were having breakfast just 4m away on the other side of the fence. The property is generally quiet, but every day at 07.
