About this house rental
The Peninsula on the Indian River Bay is Delaware's premier vacation resort community. Set on 800 acres of natural beauty on the shores of the Indian River, the private gated community includes miles of walking trails, a private beach and environmental preservation areas surrounding a world class Jack Nicklaus designed golf course. Lakeside Village Center is the heart of the community and includes a heated indoor pool, three outdoor pools, tennis courts, pickle ball courts, restaurant with poolside bar and grill, playground, fitness center, spa, rec room, basketball court and much more. The Peninsula Clubhouse offers fine dining options.
The family friendly resort's location is just a short drive from Rehoboth, Lewes, Dewey and Bethany beaches making it an ideal hub for day trips. Rehoboth Beach is about 10 miles away and has outlet malls, amusement parks, ocean beaches, great restaurants and more. Assateague National Seashore is about a 45 minute drive.
For the Kids: The wave pool includes a sandy beach and gradual entry for the little ones. Amenities include a miniature golf course, playground, basketball court, volley ball court, pickle ball courts, games in the rec room, indoor pool, fishing pier, kids activities and a private beach on the Indian River Bay. The outdoor activities pool includes volleyball, basketball and a water obstacle course. Kayak and bike rentals are available.
For a relaxing trip: Miles of nature trails, walks on the private beach on the Indian River Bay and spa services at the Lakeside Village Center are the perfect way to get away from it all.
For the golfers: The private Jack Nicklaus Signature 7,200 yard championship golf course is consistently rated among the top 3 golf courses in Delaware. The club includes a top rated practice facility, indoor golf simulator and private lessons are available. In addition, Baywood Greens golf course is located 2 miles from the Peninsula and Planta tion Lakes is about 10 miles away allowing easy access to two of the best public courses in the state. Many other great public courses in the Ocean City, MD area are within a 30-45 minute drive.
The Peninsula truly has something for the entire family.
Our vacation home is a custom built two story home including 6 bedrooms and a 2 car garage. The large family room with a gas fire place and open first floor plan is ideal for family gatherings. The custom kitchen is fully equipped for entertaining. Each of the 6 bedrooms has its own full bath providing great privacy for each guest. In addition to the wrap around deck on the first level, there are three decks off of the second floor bedrooms.
The large rear deck includes an outdoor living area, gas grill and dining area. The back patio includes a gas fire pit overlooking the 12th hole of the golf course.
The property is centrally located within the community and about 1/2 mile walk from the Lakeside Village Center. It is about 1 mile from the community beach.

We enjoyed our stay here in August 2024. The house is enormous and very nice. The Peninsula neighborhood is beautiful and great for kids. They had a lot of fun at the pools, doing the trails on their scooters, and we had a great time catching sharks and rays at the private fishing pier. It's nice to have a lot to do in a very self-contained and safe area. The beach towns are not very far away, though the drive can be more like 45 minutes in high season traffic.

The house is large and very comfortably accommodates a sizeable group. The kitchen is well-stocked, with plenty of dishes, pots, and pans, making meal prep a breeze. There are multiple options to make coffee, I think I saw a total of 3 coffee makers?! 1 drip and 2 Kurigs.The rooms are spacious, providing plenty of space for everyone to relax.
The amenity pass is a must if you're staying here. The community pools were fantastic, even during our slightly rainy week. The wave pool with a sandy beach area was awesome for the young kiddos, the obstacle course in the main pool provided endless fun, and the small kids' pool reminded us of a miniature "Great Wolf Lodge." We were pleasantly surprised to find that on Friday, the pool turned into the place to be, with live music and multiple bars for the adults. Since we traveled with kids, we didn't get a chance to go to the adults-only pool, but for those traveling with an older crowd, I'm sure it is an awesome perk.
A minor inconvenience was we had to provide our own sheets and towels, but not enough annoyance to deter us from staying here again. We also forgot to bring hand towels for the bathroom, which would be a nice addition. Thankfully bath mats were provided bc this was something else we hadn't remembered.
Overall, this rental home offers a fantastic combination of comfort, convenience, and amenities. Highly recommended for families or groups looking for a great place to stay near Rehoboth Beach.
