Gaiola sea house Posillipo

La struttura è bellissima e fornita di tutto! Oltre ad essere comoda e pulita! Abbiamo passato io mia moglie e due ragazzi una vacanza stupenda, questo anche per la vicinanza alla gaiola, stupenda! Poi che dire… oltre al posto auto privato e la calma che regna sovrana… siamo stati benissimo! Grazie di tutto e per l’ottima accoglienza, sicuramente ci rivedremo! Già non vedo l’ora!!!

Beautiful location. Great base for exploring the city with good bus and a fairly close Metro station. It was close to the airport too. Well equipped kitchen, good bathroom. Would be nice for the beach too but we wanted to explore the city. Friendly bars and restaurants nearby. Interesting archaeological site nearby with an amphi-theatre. Gianmarco an excellent host.

Road down to the house was narrow but got better with practise.

It was so easy to be in the apartment, and the environment surrounding it was very pleasant. The patio is excellent for relaxing, and the house was well apportioned with towels, bread&spreads&juices&coffee for breakfast, and hygiene supplies. It was quiet and clean. It’s also on the same street as the beach area, Spiaggo del Gaola. The owner, Gianmarco, is kind, knowledgeable, and helpful. He’s an excellent driver and will shuttle you from the airport for an additional fee (€50) in a comfortable van. His family lives in the house next to the apartment, and they were congenial. He will help you reserve beach spots by sending you the link.

It’s a solid uphill 17 minute walk to the bus station, and the sidewalk is all cracked up after the narrow cobblestone road, so it’s not easy to take bags to the bus. You’ll want a taxi to the airport or the train station. The bus also is hard to know the schedule of, so it’s not a quick thing to get into Posillipo proper or Naples central. It’s about a 45min bus ride to Naples central, not including walking time. Take bus 140 or C 31. The beach also gets reserved quickly and part of the beach is just a concrete platform fully shade after 1pm, so to get full sun, you need to be there early. That being said, if you go to this location for the beach primarily, buy food for cooking at home at the shop just 12min away, and eat any meals/aperitivo/drinks out at the public square restaurants and cafes or the pub just up the hill, you will have a really sweet and lowkey time. It would be a perfect environment for people who just want to do everyday life elsewhere.
