Villa Hacienda 4

We stayed at Villa Hacienda 4 for almost two weeks as a group of eight and had a wonderful time overall. The villa is located at the very northern tip of Mauritius, which is worth keeping in mind when planning excursions. Visiting attractions in the south of the island can easily involve a 1–1.5-hour drive each way. However, several lively areas with bars, restaurants, and beautiful beaches are just a 10-minute drive away. The villa itself is beautiful and very spacious, making it ideal for larger groups. It features a large open-plan living area with a kitchen and lounge, four bedrooms (two with en-suite bathrooms and two sharing a bathroom), a lovely outdoor area with a private pool, and a separate utility area with a washing machine and dryer. Everything was clean and functional. One thing worth mentioning is that the villa is somewhat hidden and can be a little tricky to find upon arrival. Google Maps tried to direct us onto roads near the property that didn't actually exist, so some additional arrival instructions would be helpful. A special thank you goes to Marilou, who warmly welcomed us, showed us around the property, and provided plenty of useful local tips and recommendations. She also proactively informed us when unrest broke out in Mauritius during our stay, which we really appreciated. Having such a reliable and helpful local host, who was always reachable when needed, gave us great peace of mind.

While we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, there are a few things that could benefit from some maintenance or replacement. These include several lights and lamps, bathroom fixtures, a few tiles, and some of the outdoor furniture. Another minor issue was that pigeons were nesting on the awning, leaving part of the outdoor area quite dirty. As a result, we weren't particularly comfortable walking barefoot in that area. Addressing this would make the outdoor space even more enjoyable.

The house was in an ideal location, very close to the beach and all the amenities but at the same time in a peaceful and quiet area. Our host Marilou was amazing and very accommodating. The villa had everything we needed, beds were very comfortable and the decor was tastefully done. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Peut être renouveler la vaisselle et rajouter des coupes de champagne car on adore ça ;-)
