Casa Nella, appartamento vista lago

It was an amazing stay, the place is exceptional, view, location, cleanliness - everything was on the highest level. It was even better than what we expected. Thanks to both Nella and Alessandro for their hospitality

L'appartement est grand, bien agencé (2 coins chambres distincts avec deux salles de bain attenantes, très pratique quand on part à 2 couples). 3 terrasses spacieuses dont 2 avec vue sur le lac. Propriétaires sympathiques et discrets. Le parking est le garage du propriétaire, grand et sécuritaire. Le port n’est pas loin, accessible à pied, ce qui est très pratique pour prendre les ferries. Excellent rapport qualité/prix.

- Il manque dans la cuisine des éléments qui seraient bien utiles : sel, poivre et huile d’olive. - Des coussins de chaise longue seraient bien. - Ce n'est pas la faute des propriétaires, mais le bruit des animaux aux alentours et ce dès le matin peut s’avérer gênant (coq, chiens de garde..).

The view from the balkony is excellent. The appartment is spacey. It holds 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Plenty of space. The car could be parked indoors, in high season around lake Como a real treat. It was approx. 5 mins walk to the bus stop where the bus takes you to Mennagio. From there you can take the ferry towards Bellagio for example. Also you can walk to Musso in aprox. 15 minutes where you can take a ferry that takes you up to all the little villages around Como lake. This ferry leaves once in the morning and returns once a day in the evening. In high season parking in Menaggio was impossible, we did not even try in Bellagio, so having an alternative is excellent. There is supermarket Ok in approx. 15 min walking towards the village. Very small, but it holds everything you need, even enough glutenfree foods. Close to the supermarket you will also find a lovely little boat museum. Upon arrival at the appartment we were greated by the owners that live below. They are very nice. They do not speak English, but with google translate we could manage.

All was excellent..except: - the bed in the master bedroom really needs a new mattress. You wake up multiple times per night with the springs pushing in your body. - there was no airco, somewhat mitigated by the fans on both rooms. In the evening it cools down quite good, but the musquitos prevent you from leaving the windows open. -The second bedroom would need vacuuming under the beds, for the rest the appartment was very clean. All in all this appartment deserves an 8 or a 9, but getting a good night sleep was difficult. We had read other reviews about the matress, and thought it cannot be that bad, but it is unfortunately. Only a fraction of the rental fee could mitigate this to be an excellent appartment with only new mattress. Therefore the lower rating, after all, in such a beautiful environment you mainly sleep in the appartment.
