It is in the center - walking distance to almost everywhere - we walked all around West Lake - and hiked on Gelishan. Around the areas are temples and museum - also near the show Impression West Lake Enduring Memories of Hangzhou. Staff very helpful - we requested to change rooms after 1 night and they accommodated well. Free wash of laundry too.
Can get busy because it is located on the foot of Gelishan, and within area of Yue Fei Temple so the in and out of the hotel can get tricky. Buuut for us not a deal breaker as we intended to do a lot of walking and hiking.

We loved the location ! You are walking distance from some of the nicest places to wander around West Lake and there are some good inexpensive restaurants nearby. The rooms are nicely furnished and the hotel in general had a nice vibe.
Breakfast was a mess, there were only 6 tables in total and every day was a struggle to ask to get a previously used table to be cleaned up for us ...

Good architecture, great place (hiden from main road depaly in the outkirt of city), woods. The breakfast were sufficient, like 4/5 on my opinion. THey helped with booking for lake show.
Not one person in hotel speaks english. They had electronic translator, but it takes 3-times longer to solve out anything.
Comunication on email was zero, absolutly missing. Big problem, our booking was canceled because of that. Solved on the spot with luck.
